Not that Korean guy
If that picture of the car is genuine then I really fear the worst, looks horrendous 😞
I heard there was a storm all over England today? I don't think there's rain on the photo so maybe it's not it, but I could only hope... that's how bad the photo is...

Little sympathy from me. Let's call it out as potentially what it is - dangerous driving. The second time he''s done it. I hope they throw the book at him (if he's found to be liable of course)
Don't jump to conclusions

These supercars are stock fit with tyres that are just completely awful in the wet. Even driving normally they skid all over the place, you can be driving normally and you can lose control. I know this because some twat was tailgaiting me & my girlfriend in some sports car on a country road outside Ilkeston a few years ago and completely sped out into the other lane even though I was going about 35mph. We laughed because we left him in our dust in a fiat 500 but if he skid the other way or somebody would coming the other way he was toast.

Indeed

Looking at the car my first thought was also how did that happen, but considering that the guy's in a bad way, I felt talking about that is probably something for later. And it's also easy to see that and his history and jump to conclusions especially on a wet road in bad conditions.

Always liked Antonio, what a player he was for us and always spoke so highly of us when there really wasn't any big talk around him coming back to play against us. He even said his time here was the best of his career.

Glad to hear that he's stable but if he's able to play football again i would be astonished having seen the wreckage. A miracle even.

The bloke obviously can’t drive for shit. It’s not too long ago he put his car through someone’s front room. Maybe he should drive slower or get a more sensible car before he kills someone else or himself.

I read that he's been paying absolutely loads to insure his flash cars because he won't compromise on driving them and going for something he doesn't need to spend thousands on insurance for, and he was also finding it hard to find someone to cover him at all after the previous incident.

So what you're saying is probably true, if not maybe a bit soon - I suppose now we know a bit more about his condition, and that he's been a bit lucky really to have or so it seems escaped with a broken leg; it could probably end his career depending on how bad it is, but then a lot of ex-pros do end up in coaching or media and he's 34 now so this probably wouldn't have been too far off. I also read somewhere else he was struggling to enjoy the game any more, so I wonder if this will influence what he does next. It'd be good to see him recover and then just make a few token farewell appearances like Chris Cohen did.

I'm sure the causes of the accident will be investigated - if he is legally deemed to be at fault it would be deserving of a ban (seeing the state of his car) which will as you say, protect him and others from his driving. Plus remedial driving courses like they do for people caught speeding...

Your car doesn't end up like that if you're driving sensibly, surely.

Obviously I'm glad he's firstly alive and secondly he hasn't injured anyone else but I think he should employ a driver from now on. I'm sure he can afford it.

Whilst I fundamentally agree with you, it wouldn't be too surprising if this is the outcome though.

Though I agree wholeheartedly it is not the way to end ones career nor is it the send off he deserves for years of good service to the game, the possibility of it being a bad injury is quite high considering the state of the car, and that he was in it for 45mins and needed to be cut out and airlifted to hospital. He is possibly lucky to be alive considering I'm sure football players have died in car crashes like that before.

But Antonio is 34, and a bad break could be at least a year on the sidelines with the possibility of not being anywhere near the same player again, especially as so much of his game was based on pace and power. I think not too long ago he also mentioned that he was mentally struggling to motivate himself to carry on playing, and it is possible that he may see this as a moment to stop. Or he may well be advised by the medical staff that he won't be able to play again. Which would be sad as I'm sure he like others wants to retire on their terms - but then I seem to remember Dave Busst didn't play again after that break which was sustained whilst crashing into Peter Schmeichel.

The media should stop speculating. It's too early. It's irresponsible of them to say these things.

I didn't like that article either, it was based on a lot of guesswork and not much concrete information, we don't even know the specifics of his injuries and it doesn't seem like they do either, anyroad it's poor to put something like that out after the crash was only a couple days ago.

I'll always remember him being absolutely unplayable at times that season, he was a joy.

I wish him well obviously but the bloke obviously has an issue with buying daft cars and not driving them well. I’ve cycled on that road in Epping Forest many times and on a Saturday lunchtime even in cold weather there will have certainly been a good number of cyclists out riding. He's a very lucky boy that he didn’t maim or kill others. I hope that if he is physically able to drive in future that this is finally a wake-up call for him

I've always loved cars ever since I was a toddler, went karting a lot in my teens and still do a fair bit of sim racing. So I love a nice fast car. But they are for the track where you can really put them through their paces. I'll never understand why people drive crazy fast cars in traffic, totally pointless. There's a time and a place. Hope he recovers as well as possible but like others have said, the photo is horrific and he ain't playing again.

Leg fracture apparently.

Assuming it's true and looks likely not just plausible then he's out for all of this season and the start of next season minimum.

He's 34 already, long way back to full fitness.
Seems logical this might end his career. He might not even want to return after his rehab.
