If it is, young Lowe has gone up in my estimation.

Colback as LB for six weeks or a shot with Laryea?

And if the answer is Colback, aren't you stretched too thin in midfield, with only Ojeda (who hasn't played since December) and Cafu (who's mostly used as a no 10) as backup to Garner - Yates?

As Congo said, we’ll see both. I’m assuming we’ll see Colback first but MIGHT have Layrea on the bench so colback could slot in back into the midfield at any time.

Last time Colback played against QPR was when he was LB AND scored. He was good that night; like usual.

Pretty sure Colback played in midfield against QPR last time. Was probably Lowe's only really poor game this season.

Lowe was at LWB and you're right it was by far his worst performance. I remember GBG being particularly and uncharacteristically scathing in the match thread.

That game was weird. Thought we spurned some good opportunities in the first half but we gradually got worse as the game got on. Should have led going into the break.

Adomah then started giving us problems from RWB in the 2nd half.

Colback has an engine but if he's getting asked to play wingback, the post break schedule is a big ask. I'd like to see Laryea given some match time but of course depends on situations. Something like the home Brum match.

With him and Cook, it'll be a real test of the squad depth and conditioning. A silver lining is that we'll probably get to see a bit more of the newer players who'll be here next year. Colback's flexibility is a real asset here.

As others have said, Lowe has flown under the radar a bit because of Spence but he's a real loss at a critical time.

Really hoping we don't see Bong on the pitch.

Colback is a bit of machine. My guess is he covers more ground than any other player and niggles and snaps from minute 1.
For an old boy he puts himself through a lot. Just hope he doesn't get injured....

with lowe penchant for injury and his potential wages and transfer fee , guess forest won't be going for him this summer. look like Emmanuel Longelo might be the one since west ham trying to use him as a makeshift in any deal for worrall

I like Max Lowe, but I agree that a second lengthy-ish injury should come into the club's thinking when deciding whether to sign him or not, and what kind of money we should pay.

What was his pre Forest injury list like?

I'm always massively against injury prone players as we never have good luck with them, but I don't know enough about him to make a solid judgement. Is this even the same injury as before?

The injury by all accounts, is a recurrence of the groin injury that kept Lowe out previously.
Remember that Arsenal lad - play 6 or 7 games on loan at Cardiff before doing his hamstring.
Came to us and played a couple of games before...
Lowe puts me in mind of that Arsenal lad.
Both good footballers.
But how reliable will they be with a known injury weakness?

Yep. We've been here before, we need to tread carefully where injury prone players are concerned. Doubly so if 7 figure transfer fees and big wages are involved.

Well its all about the cost. If hes sub 2M and has normal wage demands I'd say yes but I wouldn't put the bar much higher than that with these injuries.

Its all about the Blunts and whether they want to live in the real world...

I think we can do better than Lowe, hes been OK, and maybe I'm judging him too harshly because Spence has been amazing, but especially given two long injuries, I think we could spend the money we would spend on lowe and get a better player

I kind of agree - for me Lowe has been disappointing since coming back from his previous injury. Looked much better before that.

We've done the 'good, but frequently injured' scene. Time now to get good players who can give us plenty of playing time, too.

I don't think Lowe is good enough for our new player selection panel to balance skill against enforced absence. I'm sure they will have some younger player on the radar that we have completely overlooked or never heard of.
