Yeah, but they weren't unexpected saves, you'd expect most decent keepers to make them. Honestly, go back and watch the Leeds (home) extended highlights from last season. Navas made 3 or 4 genuinely amazing saves to keep it at 1-0. (I don't think he had another game as good as that - his first - for Forest mind you.)

Nottingham's dirty secret
Jacque's profile photo always cracks me up for some reason 🤣.

FWIW I thought Mat did a decent job and am surprised to see his stats are so low. Saying that, when a player had a shot, apart from a few world class saves, it seemed that it more often than not nestled in the back of the net. Wouldn't be sad to see him start the season but I think the club will want better.

Anyway.....

Listening to Forest Focus I was surprised at how average his stats actually are dare I say below average.

Imagine the club will be very aware of how not so great his stats are and that might explain why they are looking for another keeper. But to be fair to him he came into a struggling team who cannot defend set pieces so I am not sure those stats tell anything like the whole story. Give him a pre season and the chance to further build a bond with his defence I think he will be fine.

I would hope we are looking at other areas to strengthen first.

That was mostly Murillo, think Sels made 2 decent saves. Not on the level of Navas v Leeds for example.
Navas vs Leeds was a pretty bad one from what I can remember. But he won us the match in the reverse fixture.

Shows even the best keepers in the world make mistakes from time to time

Forest keepers generally have a decent first outing.

Turner was ok vs Arsenal
Vlack was ok vs Villa
Nevas vs Leeds
Hendo vs Newcastle
Samba vs Fulham away?
Can't remember Hovarth's.
Muric vs West Brom (Ah)

It was that Brentford goal that cemented Turner's shitness in my mind

Barely League One standard that
I genuinely don't know how he's made it to the PL and as an international goalkeeper. He's absolutely trash in almost every aspect. People say "he's a good shot stopper"...... and?? That's the bare minimum I expect of any professional goalkeeper.

He's one of those people who have inexplicably managed to earn a living out of the game.

Sauce salad?
The Tottenham goal is my lowlight: shat himself and kicked it to their player, shat himself again, flapped a not so difficult strike.

The issue with that one is that he took the half-step to the left when the cross came in which meant he was out of position for the shot on goal.

There doesn't appear to be a logical reason why he would do that

The issue with that is he didn't save it when anyone with even half a goalkeeping brain would have

My Nan could've saved that, and she's dead!

He's just utterly shit, I have no idea what our recruitment team saw in him, he can't even stop the most basic of shots as that GIF proves

And let's be honest it's a sad indictment of Comedy-mos that he was parachuted in to stop this kind of shit and then bombed out again for being even shitter than Turner!

Honesly I think the Turner and Vlach signings are the worst we've made since Platt's trio of Italians

My main issue with that goal, like so many others last year, was the free header we conceded 8 yards out.

Not defending Turner overall, but on this one Norgaard could have put it left, right, top corner, bottom corner. He had so much time. Turner had to cover all options. Obviously having got to the ball he should have done much better.

#1 incoming transfer this summer for me is a commanding experienced CB, and that's even if we keep Murillo and Boly plays 25+ games

What I will say for Sels is for 5 mill he was a great signing considering what we had and we paid 5 mill for Vlad. So Sels was awesoem for the value however he aint that speacial. He just isnt an error strewn keeper but he deffo no Henderson or Navas who were a lot more commanding and won points on there own. So I am completely open to a new number 1 but we maybe able to get by with Sels.

It's because he was standing a mile to the right before the cross comes in, to give himself a chance to come and claim it.

I watched the longer Spain video on the official socials and a few clips of training and not seen Sels. Seems to be the new lad, Turner and a kid in goal. Did he not travel?

Yeah I noticed that. Obviously Belgium progressed beyond the group stages so he may still be on his break I guess.
