Only a 50% drop?

I once switched to a MacBook and mine probably dropped by 90% until I almost threw the c**ting thing out of the window.
What about moving to an IPad - my brother gave me my Dad's IPad (an up to date model).
Strummer will tell me they are god's gift to improved productivity.
I'll tell you the truth.

I was listening to Nick Pope talking to Ben Foster the other day and he said that they've all been struggling with the new Puma ball.

He said they're so used to how the Nike balls behaved and moved but they're now having to learn the new behaviours of how the Puma ball moves and it's vastly different.

He said we're going to quite a few goals go in that you wouldn't normally see until the keepers have adjusted to it.
I wonder if that explains why he went down in installments to try and stop the Fernandes shot that hit the post. He had that much time to see it I reckon he could've run to the post and kicked it away.

Good point, he went down what appeared very late, in reality it's fractions or a second later but it could be that he was leaving it later to watch it. It's also a good example of how that ball did move very strangely.

I had the same productivity loss when they launched PornHub

West Hams 2nd goal yesterday seen from the camera behind the goal. The ball is coming straight towards Pope who has his hand out towards it as he dives. The ball then appears to drop quite quickly just before Pope's hand, despite having been quite linear in its path to that point, and goes below his hand. A noticeable movement of the ball which deceived him.

„Deceived by flight“ as they used to say in the cricket.

I didnt know they had changed the ball - seen a couple of shots that looked like they flew differently though. That N'Doye left footed drive vs Manyoo seemed to be on the keeper very quickly and can't remember the other one.... I think it might have been one Sels saved in a previous game but looked very uncomfortable doing so

I'm very hesistant to dig Sels out, given that pretty much since he came in, he's been a really good keeper.
That being said, he either needs to command his area or Dyche needs to get someone to get rid of whoever is trying to put Matz off from Corners.

If referees have given up policing the area around the keeper then we have to do it ourselves.

I still think he’s showing a distinct shortage in confidence. Hopefully the pressure lifts with that win. Want to see him more commanding, especially on corners…

Massive player for us last season. Average this season. Perhaps he is missing Aina, who hopefully will be back sometime during winter and we will have a back four with the good old gang again.

Again yesterday opposition players are targeting him at corners. Constantly stood infront of him. Several times I saw arms around him, but the ref did nothing.

He doesn't help himself tbh, he's very indecisive and weak in the box.
I never understood the theory behind having the keeper stay on the line but not having defenders on the posts. Its like you're asking to concede.

Bin VAR!
Don’t think he’s any different to the rest of the team - it’s been chaos for him, 3rd set of coaches / tactics. Win yesterday will have done him the world of good.
Special shout to him as well for recognising the little kid at the front of the Trent end who was obviously his number one fan screaming support at him and encouraging him all through the first half. At the end he sent one of the coaches over to talk to him and think he was going to meet him and give him his gloves 👏👏👏

I wouldn't think they're doing it specifically for Sels, pretty much all teams now do it against all keepers, have someone there, give them a little nudge as the ball comes in just to get them slightly off balance and block them coming for a cross.

Yeah, any game you watch it is getting ridiculous now. Refs have created a situation where attackers are all over defenders & they can’t touch them back with the use of VAR. that is why set piece goals are so high this season. They need to level the playing field, the whole league is just a Tony Pulis tribute act at the minute because they let attacking teams get away with it.

I think the long throw is a natural progression from the violent corner routines we see practised every week now.

If you set up with these special routines for a corner, it's only a short step to using the same routines for a long throw mimicking the corner.

It's not just keepers either. Whole set piece plans see attacking player's sole job being to block other players from getting to where they want to go to. Usually they will target the guy marking their best header of the ball. These blockers aren't interested in winning the ball themselves, usually facing away from the ball and just concentrate getting in the way of their target. It's ridiculously obvious.

It's the literal definition of obstruction, and already got out of hand. Nothing will be done until one of the big sides moan after it goes against them though. Then you'll see it being clamped down on.

With Sels though, even without being blocked he's always been reluctant to come off his line. Probably the weakest part of his game. Overall still one of the best in the league though. That Leeds keeper yesterday just reminded me of John Victor.

I think the signals given before corners (the arm waving thing) is the signal for the blockers to move in just before the kick is taken so they can synchronise the movements with the arrival of the ball onto the chosen head.

Basically set pieces are now being drawn up in Football that more resemble NFL plays. Forest need to wise up in this department, at both ends of the pitch.
