I remember thinking he was very good when they completely outplayed us at Ayresome Park last season (or whatever it’s called these days)

What have Bournemouth got to do with it?
Think they are/were in for him too.
Of course he wants to play prem football!.
The only way hes staying there is if hes forced to stay by 'Boro. Hes a youth product so theres perhaps a bit more loyalty around that too.
I don't doubt he wants to play prem football, my point is that he probably won't force the move by saying he wants to leave, as it will cost him too much cash from his portion of the move.

This seems uninspiring. A solid signing as primary back up for CM and CAM so sure. We are on our way to a worse CM pair than we had at championship level if he is being brought in to start. I need more concrete reports for guys like Mangala or Vrenckx

Think he'd be handy cover at LWB as well.

Yeah I think I’m being a bit negative, because he’d be useful and a level above what most promoted teams have on the bench. Just feels like he’s worse than Garner and O’Brien as a classic starting CM.

Think I have also fallen for the classic “getting excited by European talent links”.

As long as we get MGW, we’ll p*as the league anyway 😅

When you look at his style, it's quite reminiscent of a young Joe Lolley so he'd definitely be a direct replacement in that free role or wing position.

Great cross on him with that left leg. Looks smart but that video above is all I've seen of him.
If that's his best I'm seriously underwhelmed. Looks like he likes a tackle and a bit of shoulder to shoulder and he can cross the ball. Thats all you can say, other than 10M doesn't get you much these days....

He's a good player - played in both their wins against us last season and looked a threat in the second irrc - I remember searching him to see when he's signed from rangers, only to find it was his brother. He's another who makes the step up in the right side - my only concern is that we"ll have several all trying to step up at the same time, but I suppose that was always to be the case with a newly promoted side.

I feel like we were linked with his brother James some time back (Warburton?).

To be fair, that video was from 3 years ago when he was around 20 years of age.

I'd say his game has probably developed a bit more from then.

I said it earlier in this thread. I’ve seen quite a few Boro games live last season and for me, he was Boro’s best player. Always involved in the good stuff and arrives late in the box and scores goals.

I’ve no idea how to place a cash value on a player any more but at worst he’s a good squad player.

He is their best player. Surprised people are underwhelmed by this link. I think he’d be a cracking signing and can cover a few positions in different formations.

He's a good player, hungry for the top flight and exactly who we should be going after. The thing with recruiting, half of the links/stories are bollocks and there'll be a whole lot more that, for whatever reason, are non starters which we don't hear about.

For now, established Premier League players won't come to us. We're too much of a risk and financially not capable of competing with the 'bigger' boys if they mount a serious bid. Let's say, in an ideal world; Garner, MGW, Tavernier and O'Brien sign (I don't think they will) that'll mean our recruitment has been well scouted players from the Championship and Bundesliga.

We have no choice but to take risks on lads who want to, but haven't had the chance to, step up to the Premier League. Of that list, we're likely to be successful with players who our more established rivals don't seriously pursue. We're in a harder position than most as we need more players. It'll be down to Cooper to get a tune out of them .... And if we don't survive. Players like Tavernier/O'Brien will help us bounce straight back and have another shot - this time without the need to recruit a whole new squad.
