Good player. Not sure where he fits in in a Cooper team though. Number 10? Central midfield?

I don’t think this rumour has legs. But if Coops does want him, gerrim in.

I can’t say I know much about him - I have never noticed him in the Championship or haven’t been looking hard enough.

I would rather go back in for somebody like Bowler?

I thought we'd been linked with him before, but then realised I was getting him confused with his brother, James - who ended up at Rangers.

I've been to quite a few Boro games this season and each time he's done really well, certainly their best player for me. The reason his stats don't look too hot is because Boro have had no striker of any note all season. This bloke arrives late in the box and is a bit of a handful so it's a yes for me. Ideally as backup though in the attacking midfield.

I would really like bowler anyway. He looks to get on the ball and goes for the jugular. He’s got good calibre as an Everton youth, has plenty to prove, good age, probably not a huge price.

Would be a great bench option and will be trying to play himself in to first team.

Yep - agree completely.

I think we are going to need a winger regardless. We will need a plan B, if we go into the season with Johnson as pretty much our only good winger then we might find that problematic. Bowler carries the ball really well, he could play a big part here.

I reckon we’ll see at least a couple of players come in who can play on the wing, probably both AMs in the 352 formation to give us that flexibility. Maybe even another forward who is comfortable there too.

Gibbs-White would fit the bill and I suppose Tavernier would too. Cornet another one who we’ve been tenuously linked to.

Not sure I like the idea of O’Brien and Tavernier as our starting CMs. That seems crazy weak for the prem

The article says he is seen as a Lolley replacement, so I imagine he would be seen as the 10 position
He doesn't play that position though - he plays CM and LM. McGree was their attacking midfielder

So maybe just a depth piece, albeit an expensive one

General consensus on the boro forum is that bid is 5 million too low. They say he's versatile and has no real holes in his game.

It'll come down to how much the player wants to play prem football. They value him higher than ten million apparently, though they won't if he says he wants out... Of course he won't do that else he'd lose his mil. I hate modern football!

Of course he wants to play prem football!.
The only way hes staying there is if hes forced to stay by 'Boro. Hes a youth product so theres perhaps a bit more loyalty around that too.
