Unbelievable the flack you're getting for this stance.
Zinchenko doesn't half give the ball away for a "possession style" footballer.
I read this article when we signed him, I liked how it explains how he can aid structure and attacking play to keep possession based play going by using the ball. There is a small bit at the end which discusses defensive weaknesses and since the article I think its safe to say that he has not overcome them.
We need a different profile as a left back, retaining possession is quite important but the reality is that we would be better off with someone who can defend and breaks at pace like Neco and Ola. His weaknesses are exposed in our set up and he looks probably far worse than he is because what we need (Defensive capabilities, pace, energy, determination, leadership) are his weakest areas.
I agree that the flack given to the OP is harsh, they have just identified the well known flaws with Zinchenko, for me personally I probably am extra harsh because I also see him as a lazy Edu signing that we shouldn't really even have entertained, even if we are paying 50% of his wages then it will mean he is getting more than most of the first team squad from the club and no doubt a hefty loan fee as well so he represents the bad business done last summer.
