Fair play to Cheltenham. A truly horrendous start to their League One campaign, they have somehow rallied and take their relegation battle all the way to the last match of the season. Between them, Burton, and Cambridge.

Yes, they’ve done well in the circumstances to take their season this far. I go to see them from time to time and saw them get their first win in the autumn against Cambridge and another one a few months ago against Port Vale (when Alex Mighten came on as a sub for PV and did nothing to suggest he should’ve started).
It’d be quite some achievement if results on the last day kept them up, but if they manage it I hope it’ll be at Cambridge’s expense, as I have a soft spot for Burton since their chairman Ben Robinson was kind enough to make me his guest for the day when I joined Ian Storey-Moore there for a book signing in October.
