He played well today, with his swift, incisive passes and his good sense of the field. Unlucky not to score or have an assist.

Despite being one of his critics when he was here I wish him nothing but good at Oly and I really hope he revives his career and takes it to the level his talent dictates.

Now the dust has settled on this side of the Mariniakis stable I am beginning to think it may be as simple as him being unsuited to and unable to adapt to the pace of the English Championship. Jimmy Garner is currently showing what it takes to play in that advanced playmaking/attacking role and its hard work in this league needing a dynamism that I just don't think was in Joaos locker.

Two things stand out in the games he's played over here, in comparison to what I remember from over there: the first is that he almost never attempts to dribble his opponent, which is somewhat strange, the second is that he is much more efficient in stealing the ball from what I remember from his games at Forest.

It's all about mid-table...

Meddup was a bit hard for me, but once I figured what thuv means, I was successful.

I wonder how it's pronounced though: as one word with the stress on the first syllable?

The 'th' is pronounced like 'the', a soft 'u' and then 'v' on the end.

You got 'meddup' - 'made up' - 'created/invented' though so you're doing well.

I'm Notts born and bred and I have to sound it out to understand what's being said.

That one was written phonetically, again with a soft 'u'.

He created another big chance earlier. And, in general he passes the ball quickly, with very few touches. He's doing fine and fits in well, although he's still lacking a bit of stamina due to his lack of games.

Well, we said it, didn't we? He'll go somewhere else and be a success.

Same problem as others like Glenn Hoddle, "he's just a show pony"; you've got to have lots of running about and look busy to be good in our league.

Yeah, he was only as good as Glenn Hoddle. Get rid.
