It was a weird friendly. Rangers are practically ready for the beginning of the season, we need about 8-10 players, so everyone thought that we would lose heavily, and yet we somehow won 1-3. Neither of Carvalho's goals was spectacular (a tap-in and a deflection), but he was quite good (this time as a no. 10, and not in midfield as in earlier friendlies), with his usual good touches and a lot of pressing.

As I said before, it was considered certain that he would be sent away on loan, but he seems to have won a place in the roster.

The role he started off playing for Karanka and he looked pretty decent. Presses well from the front and no little skill. Hope it really works out for him at Oly.
