TalkLingard still pushing that £200k p/w myth I see, despite numerous reliable sources saying otherwise. Pathetic.

I agree with you on that point however its also very disingenuous to make out Forest are paying less overall to Lingard which I have seen some Forest fans do on the back of Percy's article. Its clear we are paying more per year to him however where I think its clever by us I believe its come with certain perfromance bonuses and crucially a survival perfromance so Lingard must be up for it and backs him himself so great news for Forest.

Is it though? Not saying we aren't, but I've not seen anything reliable saying we are either.

Whether we are paying more than West Ham offered or not, to continue to push the £200k p/w bullshit to support their narrative is embarrassing on TalkSport's part, considering it has been widely debunked by reliable sources.

Thing is with Talksport it depends on the presenters if you take Alex Crook he debunks the 200k a week figure. If you listen to Garibaldi red podcast I think they said it may work out at 200k as a whole package if he hits all his performance bonuses. West Ham's contract offer is more overall from my understanding because it was a 3 year contract but it worked out less per year. It is lazy though to say its all money orientated because if it was he wouldnt have come to Forest or West Ham hed be in Saudi now.

Most of the time they are using the £200k figure still (such as in the Dean Henderson article linked earlier) from what I can tell.

They are entitled to their opinions, I'd just rather they stuck to the facts rather than made up figures to support their arguments.

The podcast said it hits 120k with all the bonuses, the 200k figure is widely reported as complete rubbish now. Even confirmed by Cooper which never happens.

I know he wasn't our player then but can't imagine it's eased off much in the last couple of weeks 😂

What on earth has Harry Kane ever done to upset anyone?

Or are they all from bitter fans of The Arsenal?

I saw that yesterday. While 1 nasty tweet is 1 too many, given the size of the global online fan base, 12.5K nasty tweets in 6 months for Ronaldo was lower than my expectation and surely Maguire got away lightly there?

He was a bit patchy at the start of last season so I'm guessing he got a bit of abuse for not scoring and then there was that point last season where his little trick of making a back for defenders to fall (dangerously) when they go up to win a header got highlighted and he got loads of stick for that on social media.

I’ve probably been called a twat a few hundred times in a 6 month period so a few thousand for someone known worldwide doesn’t look that bad.

Of course, I’m not saying you should go out your way to be a knob to someone.

Depends how it's calculated I reckon. If it's a direct message to a player or a reply to one of their posts then that seems reasonable to count. If it's just someone saying 'Kane is a wanker of a bloke' then is it really abuse? It's not very nice, but is it abuse? I also note that gender was included as a protected characteristic so in my example 'if' it was deemed abuse then it's also deemed as gender abuse which i'd suspect it's not.

I'd like to see the methodology on it all.

I usually judge the level of abuse I get on my opinion of the person who is dishing it out.
If I'm getting abuse from some knuckle-dragging moron with sexist, racist, nationalist viewpoints, then I know I'm doing something right.

I wonder, if I were a footballer, would I feel the same way - with my talent being abused by a bunch of internumpties who can't even get a game in a Sunday pub-league?

"I can see the project they're building and it's going to look good this season. I feel a positive vibe around the camp."

"I've always wanted to be a leader," said Lingard. "Over the years, I have become more vocal in the changing room. I am looking to continue that this season."

"I can speak to the younger lads who have never played in the Premier League. It's such a special club and for me to be a part of it. I'm raring to go and am so excited now."
