Get him signed up. Enough about him to be a good option I reckon, on a free, wages won’t be too high and he’ll still be anxious to prove himself.

Allegedly according to a Millwall fan I know he's in talks...

On the one hand you'd think we'd hopefully be looking at a younger higher calibre player, but he's free and if our stay is short in the PL he's proven in the championship.

Be interesting to see the approach in the transfer market.

The sensible thing to do is to plan for relegation and then build the club slowly like many do.

But I am not sure that is in Marinakis' DNA personally. Not the slow build stuff, but accepting relegation.

We were fearful that he would sit out his contract and move on a free to a PL club, but I didn't think we'd possibly be the PL club.

I still think he'll go to a parachute payment club (think I read somewhere recently that he is most likely signing for West Brom). We couldn't have afforded his wages if we had stayed down, and the club's targets will no doubt have changed now that we are up (at least in terms of the calibre of more senior players we are targeting anyway).

Wouldn't be a bad pickup on a free still, but might not be guaranteed a starting place here now (as he would probably have been in January) so he might not be too keen now.

One of my buddies here in Edmonton is a staunch Millwall supporter, and he thinks Jed could cut it in the Prem. ON a free, it's a no brainer.

Still doesn’t fit the club’s transfer target profile. Unlike Bowler. Though that of course might now be adjusted in light of promotion

Neither did Cook, and that turned out well.

Fair point but I’d argue that criteria for forward and CB are a little different. 30yo CB less of a gamble than 30yo Winger

I'm not sure I'd describe Wallace as a "winger". Hes a creator and a dead ball specialist and a good one at that. I'm not sure I'd let age get in the way in this case-30 isn't ancient and we are not looking to pay a fee.

Bowler is a different sort of player entirely for me-hes a dribbler and more in the Johnson(lite) mould

If we sign Wallace it will be to replace Zinckernagel in that #10 role.

On a free transfer it's a sound piece of business.

Ok, but Bowler is 23. And herein lay the issue with the specifics of bowler v Wallace. The suggestion in here was that 28 was top end of our range.

One costs 0 the other 10-20m. There's room for one or both.

Is there 5 subs in the Prem next year? Any player will help. I too would prefer Bowler to Wallace, but we will need to beef up our squad.

Being honest we have had limited attacking options from the bench all season (made our promotion even more amazing)

It's 7. And for the 'big six' 15.

I'd honestly look at bringing in both and keeping Zinc.

These are good, relatively cheap players that could step up in the Prem and be very very good should we find ourselves back in the Championship.

2m for Zinks makes good sense and Wallace on a free makes good sense.

For me its one or the other.

Zincs or Wallace as a squad player, and someone better than either as a starter.

Wallace will sign for West Brom anyway, IMO.

We need to bulk up our squad, 5 subs is going to have a big impact.

All the players that have been on the bench most of this season will need to be upgraded, Wallace is a no fuss option to replace somebody like Mighten or Lolley.

And we probably need an additional few attackers on top of replacing those squad players.

Both for me, we need better players in reserve. I love Lolley but he's not good enough now, and Mighten needs a loan.

If getting Wallace on a free means we can spend 15-20m to get Gibbs White then I think it’s smart business.
