January ‘26 Transfer Window!!!!

Yeah- get him training with the squad now. Instant lift-off in Jan
This is the key part of it. He'll be miles off match fitness at the moment and so will need something like a couple months just to get up to speed.

Absolutely no point signing him in mid January, by the time he'd be ready to do anything useful then we'd only have like 8 games left.

If we're going to do it, then now is the time.

I'd expect to see more leaving then coming.

Based purely on rumour, Gunn isn't happy being third choice (thought he is injured anyway). Personally I'd be going all out to see if anyone is daft enough to want John and we keep Gunn as backup.

After of the defenders, I can't see much movement. Depending on how the Zink deal is structured, I can't see him being sent back. Maybe someone like Morato if Dyche is comfortable with Cuhna/Abbott? One or both of the latter two going out on loan would be good for their development.

Out of the midfield, maybe they cut Luiz's loan short? But I don't know the in's and out's of the deal to know if that is possible. McAtee needs more game time, but I can't see him being loaned or moved on.

I think one of Wood, Awoniyi or Kalumuendo will either be loaned out or sold, and I don't think it will be the first two unless someone like West Ham give us a decent offer for Wood.

We would be absolutely insane to sell Wood to West Ham, or any other side in the bottom six.

We don't see what the club see on a day to day basis. I don't disagree with you but this calendar year he has picked up quite a few injuries and his record is 9 goals in 26 games, so nearly one in three (still very decent). Add to the fact he has just turned 33.

Depends how the FFP situation is, but if we got an offer of say £20-25m I wouldn't be shocked to see him move on, even though I wouldn't do it.

It doesn't matter how the FFP situation is, that will be resolved in the early summer when the season has finished

You don't sell to your rivals in a relegation scrap whether you think they are good players or not, ironically Burnley did that with Wood to Newcastle - how did that work out.

Don't see Sangare being sold. Dyche seems to like him and I think the suggestion that he's not a 'Dyche player' is just a lazy stereotype tbh.

Morato either. Again, Dyche has praised him a few times and I think he'll be kept around for sure.

Zinc seems a clear option to send back early. McAtee and Kalimuendo are not getting much game time or making any impact when they do. Bakwa too, but he's been injured for much ofbthentime so jury's still out more on him in my book.

I think that the coaching team would reckon they could work with most of the squad and improve them. Where they might sell is when a player just does not/cannot fit into their systems/ideals.

I would have thought Bakwa's not going anywhere. Stone and Woan will surely want to get their claws into this lad when he overcomes his injury. I think there is a wonderful player waiting to emerge there this season or next.

Zinc, yeah. Unless Dyche finds a better position for him.

1 or 2 out, 1 or 2 in. No drama.

We have been linked in a few places with Myles Lewis-Skelly alongside Everton, Fulham & West Ham as Tuchel has told him he needs more minutes to be considered for the WC.

That would make a lot of sense, although you would argue he won't get much game time!

Wood won’t be going anywhere.
He was Dyche’s main man at Burnley for 6 seasons and our main man last season.
I can’t wait for him to be back and firing on all cylinders after the break.
We seem to be sorting the defence and midfield out - Wood is the final piece of the jigsaw

Love it but won't happen, he just transferred from Lens to Rennes in January.

We do need to eye up a proper proven GK though. Sels is still good but clearly not quite as good as last season, James Trafford will be available in Jan but asking price of 30mill is a bit silly
That will be a year there, that's not too short a time in football terms. If his wife lets him come back to Nottingham I can't see him turning us down and I don't expect the fee to be beyond us either.

Trafford still has potential but seemingly has a habit of making bafflingly poor career choices.

Going straight from League One to a relegation candidate Premier League side that don't bother with the whole "defending" part of the game as a 20 year old keeper was always going to be a bad decision that definitely set him back. He did have a somewhat redemptive season in the Championship, but while still not being anywhere near the finished product then decides that he should go to a perfection demanding title challenging club that will quickly and ruthlessly replace a player without thinking twice.

His next move should be to a club with a reasonably solid and established defence, but where he'll be a clear first choice and won't lose his place the first time there's a mistake. Newcastle probably is the better fit for him and probably was all along.

The thing with Zinc, and with Luiz, is that they are ready made replacements for Ando, when he leaves. And we can get them both for relatively cheap, transfer-wise.

The thing that concerns me is their injury records and also no coach currently, apart from the Ukrainian national one, seems to see that Zinc is much better as a CM/DCM.

He gets played as a left back because he's a left footer who in a possession based team like Man City or Arsenal will invert and play as a DCM. They were thus willing to overlook his obvious weaknesses at full back to gain that advantage.

We can't, and never could, afford that luxury - we need a proper LB who also looks to get forward, so he was never going to work there for us.

If Dyche can figure out Zinc's true position, them he could be an asset to us going forward (when Ando inevitably goes). But signing him also depends on whether we can get him for free at the end of the season (I'm not sure whether he has an extension clause at Arsenal or not).

While I agree that he is a good footballer and a CM not a LB, his Arsenal wage (no idea what we are paying of that) is huge, as is Luiz's Juve wage.

While I think we could get a better CM for lower wages that Zinc, I don't think we will find a better CM than a fit Douglas Luiz. If he can sort out his injury problems, he is worth the high salary as he is a class act. Then we should only have to replace Ando (probably).

the player in question is Brighton's Hinshelwood and he played in that game. How can any player that was part of the team that lost seven f***ing nil be described as having "silenced the reds"?

That’s about as accurate as my last company expense claim.

To be fair. They played with Hinshelwood as the only midfielder that day. Shocking tactics from the Brighton manager that saw him get the result he deserved

Also missed a pen in the Qtr final against us in March. So yeah, hardly silenced us. :ROFLMAO: He's still a very young player though TBF, and I think has been doing well this season.

Only 20 but already has a rep for being a bit of a biscuit. Hardly played this season and been out big chucks of last few seasons with various injuries.

We would never pay what Brighton would want for him, plus the article also says we are trying to sign another CB and are expecting a busy January window in & out.

I fail to believe a single thing in that article.

You can pretty much file any transfer rumour at this time of the year as a load of tosh anyway.
