I've seen absolutely nothing from Victor, Cuiabano, Jair, Savona, Luiz and Bakwa so far, and very little from McAtee, Hutchinson, Kalimuendo and Jesus.

So we'll need at least 10 in in January.

I wonder if we need more defenders?
On a serious note it wouldn't surprise me. I suppose it depends on what happens between now and then as Jair and Savona could turn out to be brilliant or complete duds. There's an element of gambling with both of them.

It's concerning we've got 4 senior strikers for one position, 4 wingers who could all claim to start games and yet at the back you take one out and you're either relying on unproven kids like Savona, Abbott or Jair, or old heads that dont have the legs (Boly) or just general duds (Morato).

Probably going to ship a couple out to bring in £30-40m and then present Ange with a new CF via a recording breaking transfer fee.

A new CB or LB?

Outgoings: Boly and Awoniyi (I’m sure someone is going to need a striker).

Possible Outgoings: Morato.

Unlikely: MGW or Sangare.

I can’t see much else besides that.
Cuiabano could come into the squad as a left back, once a place becomes free.

This could be the starting point for January:

Out: Awoniyi, Boly
In: Aina, Cuiabano

Anything else might need to be opportunistic and depend on whether we can offload other players.

We don't need any more players, thank you very much.
We haven't even started to see what most of the 13 we got in the summer can actually do when properly integrated.
Ange (if he survives) should not be thinking of asking for any new players until he has established completely his playing styles etc.
Managers may think having a squad in a constant change of flux gives them an excuse for needing more time, but it does players and fans no good whatsoever.
I think the January window should be done away with.

I read an article the other day that certain cartel 6 clubs (Scouses, Mancs & Cockneys) are pushing to extend the squad size to 28+ players, because of the amount of games they have to play across 4 competitions and their players playing around 8-10 international games per season - in a non World cup/Euro's year.
Although that would potentially benefit us this year - I think it would be a bad idea as the Cartel 6 would then just buy up the best players from the other clubs, including ourselves to make their numbers up. I also don't know how they would make the finances work for PSR regulations
Thoughts?

If everyone got 28 man squads it makes sense. Just European clubs is ridiculous.

25 is probably too small, and at the end of the day, the same PSR rules are in place whether you have a 25 or 28 man squad - and "cartel clubs" can afford to stockpile U21 players who don't need to be registered anyway so you could argue they already have an advantage with the current set of rules.

I would assume they mean every team would have a squad of 28, safe in the knowledge that their additional three would be much more expensive and better players than most of the other teams’. I would also assume until convinced otherwise that if clubs in the cartel 6 have suggested it it won’t be a good idea and won’t have been proposed with the greater good of the game in mind.

I was against the 5 subs rule as I thought it would benefit the top 6 clubs. However, I think the new rule helps with getting more game time for under 21 players and also improves the game. Can see the logic of more players, as the amount of games the top 7/8/9 clubs have to play has got bigger with various European games and internationals.

My problem is they they change the financial rules to benefit even more clubs like Man City who we are still waiting to see how they fudge any punishment for the 115 charges.

But why should the entire Premier League have to be changed to suit the top however many clubs? The odds have been stacked in favour of a fortunate, rich, entitled few clubs time and time again over the years and I don’t see why they should be given any more advantages over everyone else. They’re only playing so many European games as the tournaments were changed to give them more games and more money and to reduce the chances of the so-called elite teams getting knocked out early on.

Exactly-I remember when Liverpool crashed out in the 1st Round of a 2 legged European Cup game in 1979 (of course Forest beat them at the same stage the previous season).

It couldn’t happen now.

Unfortunately I also remember our crashing out at that stage in 1980 but yes, you usually got the result you deserved and if a ‘bigger’ team lost over two legs then so be it.
