Jack Robinson

Decent enough player for the Championship but would often find himself out of position behind the winger, then wasn't quick enough to make up the situation and was always susceptible to reckless last ditch tackles in and around the box.

Let's see what magic man Chris Wilder can get out of him.

Well for a start he could throw the water bottles to team-mates on the pitch during a stoppage or during half-time in the dressing room. Saves a wee bit of time, no?

Fox was only good when moved to centre back, he was dreadful at left back.

Fox and Traore were easily worse than Robinson. It's not even close. And that's just from recent years.

Don't get me started on Fox. Lazy as f*** and only started playing well, whenever his contract was up for renewal!
I was literally overjoyed when he left. I always preferred Greg Halford over him. At least he would make up for his lack of talent by putting in a shift each time and would play wherever he was asked with the same effort.

Good luck to him if he goes. I thought he did very well for us last season and whilst he always has a moment of madness in his locker, he’s been decent for most of this season when called upon. There were a couple of games where he got absolutely torn to bits but I can’t for the life of me remember who against.

If he goes and we get any fee at all, that would be more good business as I think he was a freebie when he joined. Hope he stays though as cover for Ribeiro.

isn't that the job of benny. guess wilder loves to collect forest utility men.

Should've clarified it's a great transfer for us. It's a weird one for them.

Weirdly Sheffield United haven't got a "pot to piss in" while the protracted legal shenanigans continue between Sheikh Mansur and former owner Kevin McCabe, so bargain basement deals is very much the order of the day for the Blunts.

Wilder makes average players good. He'll probably do well for them and be worth £5m-£10m in the next couple of years.

But, he's not going to be that player here, and we're going to move him on in six months anyway, so it makes sense for us to take the money.

Can see it from both clubs side and the players too. Everyone's happy.

Personally I can't for the life of me understand the logic in paying £1m for a solid-if-unspectacular Championship left back to play at the upper end of the Premier League

Premier League left backs must be rarer than Lib Dem MPs!

I think you've just answered your own question.

If they are that rare where exactly do you buy them from?

Good bit of business, really. Money in the pot and a wage less, all without disrupting our first choice team. When fit, Yuri is always going to be first choice and Chema seems to be totally adequate cover.

All the best to him, but can't see him getting much game time with the Blades.

Will remember him most for the own goal at Reading.

One of those rare deals that suits everyone. Forest make a profit on a player who contributed but is now just a fringe player and we free up some resource for recruitment where we need it. Sheff U get a bargain signing who will bolster their squad and probably fit their style of play. The player gets a pay rise and the chance to (at worst) swap a Championship bench for a Premier League bench.

Well if a few weeks ago it was rumoured a Prem club was gonna pinch one of our players this window, then it turning out to be Robinson is something I can definitely live with.

Good luck to the chap, think Chema's fine as cover.

Fantastic transfer , He wasn't good enough and we got someone to pay us to get rid of him.
Just shows how well run we are these days.

He did a job for us 50% of the time which on balance is a championship level player.
Sheffutd must see something else in him as he's still youngish..
If we got anything close to the million that is one great piece of biz

I reckon his main selling point is the positions can play. They're after cover at left CB, which he'll be fine for & the likes of Osborn can't cover

Might well be playing in Europe next season owd Jack.

Good luck to him. I'd like to see a young left back with potential brought in to challenge for Ribeiro's spot. Chema's decent backup but you can tell he's not that comfortable at full back and using the money on this transfer to pick up a young player with potential gives us that bit more flexibility on who to play and when, whilst not breaking the bank.
