Why are Forest replica shirts made in China?I was listening to Price of Football which had a guy from Hummel on it. It's all guesswork but based on what he said I wouldn't expect to be able to buy it until late next month at the least.
Most teams will have shirts ready made and shipped from China or wherever they make it before the season is even finished so it arrives in the summer to sell.
But we didn't know what league we were gonna be in, and probably would have sponsor / (maybe even macron) issues, so just when that is all sorted can they start manufactoring the shirt and then wait for it to be shipped over.
When the first bit is done you could reveal it but you still need to wait for all the shipments to arrive to actually sell it.
Unless EM lobs it on one of his speed-boat tankers I wouldn't expect to be able to buy it until late next month. Hopefully not though!
They're made in Vietnam so China's COVID policy is unlikely to have much to do with it.Another possible factor to think about is that PRC is still following the batshit-crazy zero Covid policy and expecting it to have a cat in hell's chance of working with the omicron variants.
So they are still putting whole cities or areas of whole cities into quite severe lockdowns as soon as there's a sniff of covid.
Given that this is going to stop a lot of people from going to work and in some places going to close workplaces entirely with a very export manufacturing-focussed economy this is going to have various knock-on effects on the global supply chain.
No doubt this too would negatively affect the speed of them being able to ship out football shirts.
If shipping costs increased by 10 it would probably still be cheaper to make over there. Why are Forest replica shirts made in China?
Nottingham/East Midlands has a fine tradition in the garment industry.
With shipping & container costs Sky-rocketing, and the whole CO2 issue we should bring the manufacture of local clubs’ memorabilia back to local people.
It's a piss poor excuse for a beer, but it looks bloody great on a Forest shirt!Bring back Labatt's!
It's yet another indication of the sad decline in the clothing manufacturing industry in this country over the last 40-or-so-years Captain. Why are Forest replica shirts made in China?

Time for Big Mac to set aside a fleet of his container ships for a week and get them across cheaper and prontoIf shipping costs increased by 10 it would probably still be cheaper to make over there.
Sadly, shipping from the Far East can still take 6-8 weeks + and then there’s the UK customs to navigate.Time for Big Mac to set aside a fleet of his container ships for a week and get them across cheaper and pronto

Aah, so Uighur slave-labour is acceptable providing our replica shirts are made as cheap as possible? At the price the shop charges, it doesn’t reflect any benefit to the consumer: the whole benefit is in a bigger profit for the retailer. If shipping costs increased by 10 it would probably still be cheaper to make over there.
I assure you if they were made in the UK they would be much more expensive.Aah, so Uighur slave-labour is acceptable providing our replica shirts are made as cheap as possible? I understand the economic argument.I assure you if they were made in the UK they would be much more expensive.
That is just the way of the world now, football is not unique. You get the same quality product at 1/10th the price, it makes no sense to manufacture in the UK.
What transfer?Christ Captain.
Can’t you go back to doom mongering about transfers!
This this and THISMy Mum was a machinist at Cooper & Roe, down in Carlton.
She made garments, mainly for Marks and Spencer.
The inspections by M&S Quality Control staff were very rigorous.
If they rejected one garment in a batch, they rejected the whole batch.
It meant that every machinist on the contract as first rate.
It just seems wrong to me (a retired Finance director) to knowingly import shoddy goods made by slave labour to line the pockets of the greedy capitalists.
They must be refreshing the stuff cus I was only looking at a cap the other day/last weekMy daughter wants a cap for school. Am I being daft? I can’t see one on the official site. Surely you can buy a cap from club shop??
