New digital platform - ForestTV!

The new website looks a damn sight better than the old one.
The streaming service is the same as IFollow for now.
Be patient my friends for I predict that next season it will be brilliant.
It will be a service fit for a Premiership-bound Club.
Forest are on the upward trajectory now.

The content of the matchday streaming service is the same.

The platform underpinning it is new. And much better (I saw a higher quality stream yesterday, with zero interruptions).

This bodes well for next season, hopefully they’ll sort out the niggling issues with the mobile apps by then also.

My stream yesterday was as poor as any I've had in the last 12 months of iFollow.
There's a settings cog - there is no way in hell that was 720p. Not a chance.

For what it’s worth, my average Bitrate was varying between 1.5Mbps and 2Mbps, which is right in the range for a good 720p stream. I just left the setting on „Auto“ and it sorted itself out.

It may depend of course on the platform you’re using and your internet connection; I have 250Mbps fibre and a Fritz!box so that is fairly decent, and was streaming on my iPad via the Safari browser.

I did try the iOS app at first, but it does not support full-screen video (which is a bit rubbish) hence using the Forest website and Safari.

They seem to be taking the comms directly from the video broadcast. This means it cuts to adverts at half time and full time, instead of any analysis or interviews. Any idea if there's a way around this? Also the highlights are far slower to appear on the new app. Solid start.

As has been previously posted; the matchday coverage will still come from the EFL for the remainder of this season.

There’s nothing the club can or will do about that.

That means iFollow, with its shit adverts, poor coverage over half time and full time (got to leave space for those anti-piracy messages and FIFA adverts!) and this isn’t going to change until the start of the new season.

There are also contractual limitations as to when the club can put such things as highlights and full-match replays on their own platforms (in the case of highlights, it’s something like they can’t be shown until they have been on the EFL broadcast partner which is Quest, I think; for full-matches, I’m thinking these can’t be put up until the next day).

Mine kept stuttering and breaking up, nothing to do with the connection as other stuff was still working, didn't seem to matter what quality i'd selected either. Never had that with iFollow...

Those fjuckin' pricay messages boil my piss, as the only ones who can see them are fans watching... the legitimate IFollow stream, are they not?

No all the streams are just the ifollow streams without paying them any money.

Totally agree, no way was is 720p, not even on the ads which for some reason looked better than the match. It’s not about my internet either because I stream 4K material from elsewhere without a problem. I had to work through every device in the house with a browser before I could get it to work. Totally missed the first half.

I used to use Chrome on a Windows 10 laptop connected via HDMI to my TV, quality was poor before but this time it just wouldn’t work. No other browser either (tried Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and old IE), tried smart TV browser, iPad but no joy there either with different browsers. In the end tried Microsoft Edge browser from an Xbox and that worked. I kept getting a generic error message on the other devices, what I assume was a HTTP 500 meaning there’s an unexpected problem with their server.

I contacted the support email but no response so far, was hoping I might get another ticket refund.

They said ifollow would still work until end of season but in reality they’ve now broken that. It only works through the app and I no longer know my password as I updated my secure password storage app with the new ForestTV one to replace it. When you go through “forgotten password” on the ifollow app it redirects to an NFFC page that no longer exists.

I did try the new iPad app part way through the second half and that worked, but why would I watch on a 9” tablet when my 55” TV is sat there waiting?

Grrrr.

Can someone tell me what labyrinthine sequence of links I need to click to buy a Matchday pass for tomorrow please? (Serious question)

Mr RayReardon

Any idea when the 'watch' option comes live on matchday? I've paid for the pass but no option to watch?..

Thanks!

It really should be £5 with ads or £10 without.

There needs to be a guarantee of bitrate/quality.

Todays stream was rubbish, not even mentioning the crap camera position and crap camera work.

I think we're in the 21st century now. For 13 quid a month I can stream unlimited stuff off Netflix in flawless 4k without a hint of buffering.

£10 for adverts where the analysis and comment should be pre match, post match and at half time and a stream that has 3 distinct balls visible when someone kicks it really isn't acceptable value for money.

Indeed, I think mine was buffering or dropping out completely (when speedtesting at 100 Mb/s) on average about every 30 seconds today.

These guys are meant to be using AWS so surely their service should be better than that? I can stream tennis matches and nowtv and stuff without it breaking up like that, ifollow never had the same issue.

The ads are shit. They are the same f***ing ads all the time, that squawky hitting the ball between his dads legs must have won the golden boot by now, and Luke Freeman surely has been keeping papa johns in pepperoni pizzas as well. I get we're still streaming ifollow content but really?

First off, fair play and thanks to the Forest ticket office for responding to my email help request and getting my service migrated over.

However, the last 10-15 minutes of today's broadcast against Bristol has horrible, buffering, cutting to black screens, at one point 2 audio feeds over the video, just terrible. IFollow had been solid for months so I can only assume it was the new delivery system of the old feeds. Let's hoping the teething pains will be over soon.

EFL dictate the price.
Ads are utterly shite.
But so far the stream at our place has run smoothly.
Yesterday the position of the camera in relation to the sun/shadow presented the cameraman with some challenges.

When you've spent you life doing what you want when you want it, you've had fun, but haven't necessarily provided for much in your pension pot.

So here in Casa Poodle, we don't have a lot of spare cash to chuck at a service which, from all accounts, requires a bit of tech knowhow plus a bit of luck to get good service. Plus the play on the pitch hasn't got my juices flowing much this season.

So for that reason, I think I'll hold on to my pennies until the service and the football improves.

I was unable to get the QPR game but thanks to Ashley Lambell from Forest I was able to see the Bristol game and found the service excellent.

I agree with all of this except Netflix doesn't give you any live content and there's barely any contention on the same media. There's is a slightly different challenge.

But let's get back to the actual facts: as a value-for-moeny exercise, it's poor.

And there's no highlight on the OS yet. A Disgrace.

Amazon do various live sports in substantially higher definition and quality than the iFollow pictures I've been watching lately but I take your point
