Ibrahim Sangaré of CÔTE D'IVOIRE

If there's any doubts over his fitness, I'd rather he not be risked at all. We're not safe yet and I'd much rather he be available for the 2nd leg and remaining PL matches than have him break down in the first half of this game and that be his season over.
If we are going to rest anyone struggling it should be this game tonight, tie shouldn't be over & we will likely go full strength in every other game of the season

Really?
He's an amateur when compared with Steve Cooper at delivering misleading pre-match information.
I firmly believe Steve Cooper's pre-match briefings were written by Lord Haw-Haw, because they were about as accurate as his Lordships' wartime radio broadcasts.

(But, we loved Steve for that, anyway).

At this rate, if the 'doubtfuls' really are out, we don't need to pretend about the second string players appearing, because we'll only have second string players left or eligible.

Pure speculation.........But yates is indeed great as well. Great Squad!!!!!!! Great team.
Hardly speculation, Sangare isn't a bad player but hasn't got the aggression or drive Yates has. Yates' passion for this club is something very few players will ever have.

Different players. I'm extremely pleased we've got both of them. There's no point getting into a bun fight over any of our midfielders. All 4 of them are very different, which I like and I'm very happy with all of them too.

Yates and Sangare are completely different players for different games,. They both offer fantastic TEAM options in central midfield for our great club. I am ecstatic to have them both at the club I support. I don't know why you are seemingly obsessed with trying to prove that Yates is better than Sangare. I don't care. But hey, have at it my friend. :)

Edit: @Notcher read my mind and was quicker than me!

What actually happened to Sangare, what type of injury. Also Ndoye was on the bench vs Sunderland and hasn’t been seen

I'm not trying to prove anything, I don't need to.

Other than a passing comment that Ibi had a slight muscle strain, there has been no word on whether he will be available for Thursday.
I wonder...

I know they say a player gets better the more they don't play (in peoples minds) but this guy missing from the last two games has had a huge negative effect on our ability to control games, both Newcastle and Villa were strolling through our midfield at times.
In my humble opinion Ibra has become as important to our success as those we are all petrified of losing (Anderson, MGW etc.) and we absolutely must fight off the inevitable bids we get for him this summer (need to check his contract situation, next year may be his last year?)

He has two years left, but agree, we should be offering him an extension

Fully agree.
He has been a major player for us - integral part of our uplift in form since he returned from AFCON.
There will be at least one major outgoing (Anderson) and maybe others - we need to be very selective as to who we allow to leave, the circa £100m we will get for Anderson gives us a major opportunity to add more strength and depth in preparation for next season

We don't know what's in players heads (as I've said before, I think MGW gave us one more season due to Europe and I think he may be looking to try elsewhere) however, if we only sell Anderson, we find someone to replace him for £40-50m (Fernadez?) spend the rest on a CF (Vlahovic if he will have it please) and we will actually be stronger next year

Dominguez sometimes gets out muscled in midfield. I often think teams target him abit. Happened against Villa and Newcastle and Bournemouth last season. He just goes missing in some games. If we want to improve on this season, we can't have Dominguez as a regular starter in midfield imo.
