Can't be arsed to read the four pages of probable dirge.

I would prefer to await the thoughts of the attendees.

And regardless, history shows Calderwood will have a few games yet.

The problem is:
Football is a results-based industry.

Messrs. Calderwood and Doughty know this.

Mr. Doughty will, with every passing pointless weekend, be seeing his shiny Clifton Toilet Bowl/Holme Pierrepont dream sliding away.

Mr. Doughty will also be aware that the backing of the fans is going to be necessary, at least in the short term.

With that lot in mind, it comes down to the D***y game in November, whether I like it or not, you like it or not or anyone likes it or not.

If we continue this current form, that game will be his 'Clash' moment ("...should he stay or should he go now...!")

If we are in the bottom three after 15 qames Colin will be sacked. I make that early November, which clashes with the Derby match....hmmm...............

I'd agree with that, I also think that 15 games is a fair tidemark to judge; because whilst there have been some fooking shite; we have actually seen glimpses of our best football under Calderwood this season - unfortunately it doesn't quite add up to enough just yet.

Personally I'm not churlish enough to state with unjustified confidence that 'we're f**ked' or 'we'll be okay' because, frankly, I don't know. And neither does anyone else.

Aside from my continued gripes about fullbacks and formations, I do think that we have a squad capable of not being relegated; whilst I concede we've had a number of freakish incidents or abysmal refereeing decisions, as well as injuries, I don't contend that they are a suitable mitigation for being bottom after eight games.

On balance you make your own luck; and eight games is enough to start to see the balance of such things restore themselves; and we have not come out of it particularly well. I imagine Doughty has calculated quite precisely what is and isn't an acceptable tolerance. Certainly his decision to not offer Calderwood a lengthy contract is an indicator that he isn't entirely convinced himself that he is the man to deliver the goods.

I think that's sound judgement; I won't be clamouring to join any anti-Calderwood movements, however, I certainly wouldn't be weeping in the streets were he to depart.

With Doughty's spineless record in sacking managers taken into consideration and the fact Clownderwood's record is three play-offs and two automatic promotions, I would guess that he has until the middle of next season before Doughty pulls the plug.

We could be in League 1 by then

As each week goes by without any points Doughty will think enough is enough. Doughty will also be sat there thinking we were one of the biggest spenders in this league over the summer why are we bottom of the league. In my opinion I think if we lose at Sheff Wednesday he will be sacked. I also think Sam Allardice will be offered the job but not sure he would accept

How do you know what Doughty is thinking? The only time he has ever sacked a manager was Paul Hart. Megson took us to within a few of points of the League One relegation zone and still our beloved chairman did nothing. Clownderwood isn't up for the sack yet and won't be for a few more months at least - knowing Forest it will be a couple of days after the January transfer window shuts.

I think that sums up my feelings perfectly.Football is a results business,I hate hard luck stories.I will feel much more at ease if we can produce a win within the next week

The only thing right in this topic is that we should wait till the end of the season. If we stay up another success supplied by Calderwood. If we get relegated then he goes.

I honestly think doughty will be using the rest of this week to have a possible candidate ready to step in on monday morning the new manager will use the trip to ireland to get to know the players and see what they can do and get a few ideas across before we come back to bussiness, calderwood could also use this time to build moral and hit october running but lets face it he had 2 weeks to get things right after wolves and how many points has he managed since then?, blame deflections as much as you want but dont forget we HAVE HAD a equal number of own goals and deflections go in for us away from home. unless we pick up 3 points at the weekend I expect calderwood to step down, tonights headline was we are out of excuses, so I expect him to say we are simply not good eneugh in the report in the morning.

and then who will come in and take over? who will be interested? how long until we get back again, I honestly think if we go down again that could be the end.

So you'd be perfectly happy for us to slide down that slippery slope again.I for one would never ever forgive Nigel Doughty and Mark Arthur if they kept Calderwood and we were relegated under him.

I absolutely 100% agree with you because if we was unlucky tonight, he won't sack Calderwood but its a 6 pointer on Saturday. Its win or bust for Calderwood on Saturday i feel.

It certainly won't be long.

Whether some think tonight was unlucky or not, he still messed up the formation again

Not true, Kinnear and Megson were both sacked but were given honourable discharges with nice pay-offs to spare their embaressment. Saying that both of them should have been removed from their positions before they were there though ...

Possibly. Though I only think a humiliating defeat could result in a sacking.

We simply cannot risk the chance of dropping back into league 1 and Doughty will be only to aware of this.

Personally I would give Colin until the end of the month but he is under some severe pressure now.

Reading Brian Laws' comments after last night's game has reminded me that Wednesday lost their first six games last season. They kept faith with Laws, survived with a little bit to spare and have started this season well.

We MUST remember that we got promoted last season by the skin of our teeth and with a helping of good fortune (especially the points deduction for Leeds). In truth we weren't a good enough side to secure promotion and therefore this season was always going to be a struggle. Even throwing a fair amount of money at the problem, which we've done, has only gone part way to bringing us up to the required strength. Those that predicted a play off push were deluded and the most we could ever hope for was to survive. That is now clear.

Having said all that, CC has to keep the faith of the fans by making wise selections. Drop Chambers, play Perch at RB and I give McCleary a proper chance to show whether he's good enough - I believe he is.

I'd hope he'd have no games but I suspect that doughty will not sack him as he will not want to pay him off. He'll be here until he realises that his own situation is untenable and he falls on his sword .

As much as i blame Calderwood; we ain't banging them in up front, how many f**kin corners did we have today and still no f****n goal. At the moment we couldn't score in a brothel. Bad decisions in the final 3rd yet again. No height up front. Lack of quality players with the exception of Earnshaw and Cole.

We're f****d unless we can bring in a quality striker whose 6 foot +. Crouch on loan?
