Forest could have done away with a whole load of speculation with one simple FAQ: How many points does the 2,100th ranked supporter have as of now?

As for getting rid of the closed shop, whoever gets a ticket for Liverpool is guaranteed for the rest of the season (except Bournemouth and Brentford) if they want it.

Club could have given you a ranking position, that defo would have clarified things - I reckon 70 points is about right, would estimate that anything above this will get you in the top 2000. I guess it’s a bit of a lottery after that.

I fail to see that expanding the away scheme will allow new members to reach the top tier of away membership.

Away tickets for the ‘30 per cent club’ will no doubt be sparse and given that it will be on a 3 year rolling basis
from next season I can’t see any possibility of getting around 50 points in 3 years for this group (the predicted 70 points currently is based on 5 years).

I still think the original away members from around 2004 (when we were heading to League One) have been trampled on to an extent since we gained promotion.

The cynic in me me thought that there would be masses of people upgraded from plus to pro on the memberships as it's £100 each.
It doesn't look like that is ths case though.

It looks like it.

I know a supporter who missed the original ‘400 club’ by one game having followed us away from home religiously
during the dark days.

He then failed to get enough tickets in the ‘Wednesday morning melee’ and subsequently is no longer an away member (although he could now rejoin the 30% tier as a season card holder).

I’m pleased that Forest ‘appear’ to be clamping down on passing tickets to mates to preserve their status-I’ve heard this blatantly being discussed at games and travelling to and from them.

I presume - but don't know - that they'll alter the points threshold for the 70% according to supply and estimating demand.

So threshold higher for the Brentfords and Bournemouth's with lower allocations and lower for the Brighton in January on a Wednesday type game.

Other clubs operate a tiered window system - similar to some of our European away games
Window 1 for 100+ points. Window 2 for 90+ points .
That would alleviate some of the fastest finger stress of getting tickets

I guess if away members don’t take the allocation it goes down to season card holders and then members as usual.

There are usually a few games that don’t sell out quickly.

I think the league match availability was increased somewhat due to the European games. A lot couldn't afford 2 home matches in a week. Of course our shoddy form last season wouldn't have helped either.

Get off to a flyer this season and tickets will be tougher to grab for core members again.

With the amount of SC holders that resell their tickets, it's sometime better waiting a day or 2 before the match for a better seat.

I think the shine and excitement of away games in the PL has somewhat worn off. Going to Arsenal away every year, just to see us gets spanked, takes its toll. There's still high demand, but I've noticed that away tickets have not shifted as quick as they used to.

I was talking to a guy last season who'd been to nearly all of our away games but wasn't an away member.......he was part of group of which a number had away memberships. The ones with away memberships applied for tickets for every game & if successful shared them out. I only apply for games I can get to and was successful 50% of the time last season.

The Club are clamping down on this and have promised random ID checks will be in force for some away games, any fans found passing on tickets will be banned

Not sure if its possible, but it would be interesting to do a poll to get a rough idea how many points everyone has got. Anyone who has been in the 400 club is probably sitting on 90+, anyone in Priority One is probably on 70 to 90 points. Being in the top 70% incorporates a lot of people, so I think if you're on anything above 65 points, you've probably got a good chance.

This is a good way of looking at it. I know there'll be a lot of people who go to most games and they'll be on a lot of points, but tbh anyone who has done 10 away games per season in 5 years would be well above the average fan. Starting to think this points total to get in the 70% could be a lot lower than we think. I agree, would have been helpful if the club said what it was

We'll know the start point once the Liverpool game goes on sale.

And from then onwards , presume it will change , as new points from 26/27 games are added.
Maybe that's why they didn't publish it as it will change.

Greater transparency always welcome.

For example, how many tickets are allocated to players, sponsors , directors and other staff.

I don't suppose CHO's family and friends entered the ballot for Palace away ! And it's great to see them there mixing with everybody but be good to know how many tickets get allocated that way.

Enables those contemplating buying a membership to enter ballots can do better calculations about chances of getting the ticket they want.

Possibly a night game or two as well-I think the Fulham fixture near Christmas last season reached or nearly reached general sale.

100 people voted and were asked how many points they have, it's obviously only a snapshot and its Twitter:

Under 40 points 30%
41 to 70 points 29%
71 to 100 points 22%
Over 100 points 19%

Liverpool game will be the test, but given that 70 points would mean you'd have attended 14 away games per season for the past 5 years, you could make a guess that anyone above 70 points is probably in the 70%.

There’s a couple that sit next to me who were in the 400-club. They went to most, but not all, away games, and any they didn’t go to they passed their tickets on. Anyone in their position would’ve been daft not to.

So I wonder if Forest have simply turned the 400-club into the 2100-club?

The “random ticket checks” can be easily bypassed.

I guess the guy who went to all the games, but wasn't a member is just bolstering someone else's points tally. You've done well to be successful 50% of the time, you should have a healthy points tally

Those that had access to away tickets, nearly always took them, as it was easy to pass them on, and it boosted their loyalty.

One of the problems now, is how the points thresholds are determined. Where before, those with similar memberships could purchase tickets at the same time and get to sit together, then this may not be possible going forward.

Yes, I've wondered this. The varying points system might mean it's tricky to buy seats together. Let's face it - the passing of tickets will still continue, Unless the club specifically state that ID needs to be shown at the turnstile, there's truthfully no way of checking. Even if there's a spot check, you might not necessarily be carrying ID and they couldn't force you to show it.

I take it there’s no change for plus members to get away tickets? Be nice to go to 1 or 2 a season.
