All I know is that those who know say that our system is by far the worst in the Prem. Now how did that happen? Because our guys can't see what others are doing or, perhaps, our ticketing system is so antiquated that they can't do it like others because they don't have the data readily available?
Our ticketing system is the exact same one used by Spurs, Arsenal, and West Ham. So we should have the same data quality as they do, and at minimum be able to match their approaches.

One theme I’m seeing again and again is about rewarding loyalty. I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and I just wonder if that’s a concept that’s really invented by those who want to justify their desire to be at the front of the queue.

If you went to Carlisle away, why does that mean you should be able to go to Man Utd away? The tickets bought for Carlisle away were to go to the game. They’re not bought as a sacrifice, it’s not an unpleasant thing to have done, it’s a ticket for a match and you got to see the match. You got what you paid for.

So if you bought 17 away tickets last season, you got to go to 17 away days - Exactly what you bought. You didn’t buy a right to go to other games.

I just wonder if the concept of loyalty in football is misplaced.

I usually agree with what you say Rich but not here, the point about loyalty is that those fans who went to Carlisle in the cold and rain to watch us lose, will go to Carlisle again in the cold and rain to watch us lose again because they love the club no matter what division they're in or how they play, the fans who just turn up for Man U because it's Man United wont. When the club needs it's fans those fans who went to Carlisle will be there the ones who only want to see us against Man U won't.

You need to reward the fans who have given thousands to the club and followed them through the pain, the misery the relegation battles, rather than sack them off because now we have been "successful" more people want to see us as those fans won't be there when you need them the most!

There is no answer that everyone would agree on.

How to measure loyalty?

I went to most away games in League 1 (including Carlisle on a Tuesday) and most Championship away games up to last season. I bought Away Membership for many years just to guarantee Pride Park. I didn’t go to an away game last season though.

I now have Away Membership again. So if I get a ticket for United away but someone who went to 17 away games last season but hadn’t set foot in a football stadium prior to 2021 doesn’t, is that fair?

It is extremely difficult to guage, the only true way of doing it is over a few seasons, 3/4 maybe 4/5 as you can't go back forever as it would be unfair on younger fans.

It's not an easy thing to sort out, but I disagree with completely ignoring the past.

Anyone here sit at the front/centre of Trent End T3, and were you asked about the camera platform that's been plonked on the parapet in front of you, turning your seat from one of the best in the stadium into a VERY resricted view one?

That camera shouldn't restrict views I'm sat very near it on the second to last row and it's a good 6foot above head height. I'd struggle to jump and grab in and I'm 6-2.

Actually I'm talking about a different camera. I Just realised sorry 😂😂

We sit on the front row of the UB and our seats are classed as ‘restricted view’ because of the TV cameras which obscure the view when a corner is taken.

Our seats are not any cheaper mind. 🙄

There wasn't an operator in the gantry today but when there is, a whole bunch of people won't be able to see the Trent End goal and much of the penalty area.

I did notice some new gantries had been installed, couldnt see anything on them. Are they not part of the VAR system so wont be manned?

How big is thd divide between the home and the away fans? The gap at the corner of the Lower Exec looks very big, surely they could shave a bit off that to get a few more in?

This one's got a swivelling seat and camera mount it ready for the same thing you can see on the upper bridgford parapet behind the goal. When there's an operator in there they'll be right in the way

Yeah, fully get that. It’s a hard point to disagree with, but it shouldn’t be the only metric.

If we are talking about how much money people have given the club then over what period should that be?

The 3,000 who get tickets for Man Utd, so though, aren’t there for their first ever game. They are all season ticket holders, which means they were season ticket holders last year.

I think too often people just care about getting to as many away games as possible, but there is a finite amount of seats there and demand is ten fold for what it is. We’ve always had a good away following - those tickets to Carlisle away probably didn’t make general sale, for example.

We also have to accept that success breeds motivation. People might not become forest fans because we’re doing well, but they will be more motivated to give up their time and money than before.

I don’t necessarily think we shouldn’t reward loyalty, but I also don’t think we should allow loyalty to be defined by those who stand to gain from the definition.

If the club sorted out some decent wifi they could log in and watch the game on their phones - the camera will pick up what they can’t see. That’s how it’s supposed to be, right?!

Is that the block where a chunk of seats came available late for the Spurs game? Ie keep it empty as a matter of course and then release them once they satisfy themselves trouble is less likely to occur.

I couldn't quote see as I was in the next block along but it appeared just to be covered in flags.

Have a look at the Spurs game - if there are fewer flags and about 100 fans then it’s the block that popped up the other day

Has anyone bought a ticket this morning with Gold membership but the ticket doesn't show your seat/row number after buying it, unlike for previous games? Or just me..

It's one of those perennial problems when you have to sell tickets to popular venues. Try to do it on the 'first come, first served' basis or the loyalty basis?

Come on Trust, sort it. You're apparently the only one's with the ear of the club
Val - you been around a handful of years more than me so you will have seen that:
1. The Club make the decision whatever any group say.
2. Every Fan Group is engaged with the Club but not every group let’s you know what they say if anything.

I‘m pleased though that you agree with my view that groups working together would be the most effective. It doesn’t need a new group which would be a lengthy process - just better working together.

Three seats free next to me yesterday. No idea if they were ST holders who didn't turn up or not.

What's happening with the club's ticket exchange? Still nowt on it.

So the Man City and Grimsby tickets are both going on sale at 10am Tues. No, this won't be a disaster at all, not a bit.

Tuesday will be fine, as it's just the 400 Priority Plus who are all effectively guaranteed tickets.

Wednesday when they both open to the other Away Members will be a problem though.
