Harry Arter

In fact, Harry should be thanked, as in a perverse way, the failure of his type of signing probably hastened the change to the recruitment model we've since adopted.

I think this is more of an insult than calling him a toss in front of his face! Lol

But don't forget in the context of the 2020 close season we had taken a mainly inexperienced side (aside from Watson and Grabban) into one which had just missed out on the top 6 on the last day.

I think a fair amount would have agreed with the eventual consensus the club had which was to bring in more experienced Championship players, so we saw Colback sign permanently, Arter obviously, Christie, Knockaert, Taylor, most of these had a pedigree at the level and also a fair amount winning previous promotions and playing in the top division.

But in doing that you have to see that experienced players cost a lot of money and also their value goes down not up over time. You need some experienced heads but accept they won't make a profit for you and they won't go on for ever.

Alex Mowatt isn't particularly old but he was a leader on the pitch for Barnsley last season and probably one of the reasons they are now struggling (aside from the manager going also) is that he's left and they won't sign too many experienced players. You always need the balance in the squad.

I don't quite feel ready for the cemetery just yet Ray but I'll keep what you say in mind. However, if hanging around in a Wetherspoons all day is your idea of living then I'll happily carry on with what I'm doing.

Hopefully this will be the last of the crap signings to ever play for our club , The recruitment over the last 12 months has been excellent loans and permanent, Long may it continue.

The photos of him doing the rounds in the Counteh T shirt make him look like a bloke whose been given a date rape drug and woken up in a mystery house with his pants around his ankles!.

To me it looks like he's gone through/going through some pretty tricky stuff mentally, my opinion only and absolutely no aspersions cast if its the case btw but hope that he gets something out of his time with County.

Premier League to National League.

Regardless of personal circumstances, that's some decline.

Areter weighed in with a pinpoint cross for County's equalising goal.
He also got a yellow card, and came off after 61 minutes.
I hope the spell with County helps Arter rekindle his love of the game.

Some suggestions that he signed a new contract recently as well... instead of taking a wage rise from promotion (which he was entitled to) he agreed to go on on something like £15k a week for an extra year.

So we've got him for 2 more years? You know those comments about Japanese Knotweed at the council meeting? Was it just code for Harry Arter?

But at £15k/week it makes him a more saleable player
