Grand Theft Auto V

I liked IV for some reasons, it looked great and handled well, multiplayer was mahem, but the missions were quite crap and uninventive, mostly rehashed from VC and SA.

I can't see setting it outside the US working really. It'd take some nuts level of research and designing to do somewhere like Moscow or London for example. They'll probably stick with what they know.

Rio would be cool.

Do you think it'll stay modern? Or go back to the 80s or 90s again? I hope it doesn't got back any further than that.

"In March, Rockstar's parent company Take-Two held acting auditions for an unnamed project, the casting call for which provided details for a selection of characters, including mobsters, movie agents and wannabe starlets – suggesting to sites such as Kotaku, a possible Hollywood setting for GTA V, although Rockstar did not comment on the casting session or on the nature of the project.

Certainly, the 2004 release, GTA: San Andreas featured an area named Vineland, heavily modelled on Hollywood."

San Andreas it is, then. Maybe it'll just be focused on LA, instead of sprawling over three cities like last time?

Right, calm and read it now

GTA is my favourite game franchise of all time and always will be! So stoked to hear this, god knows how many times I've search GTA 5 into Google in the past 2 years hoping for some news!

Would be a tad strange if they go mob style, seeing as LA Noire was kind of in that setting, and there's been games like Mafia and The Godfather who both did all that stuff already.

I really hope it is Vice City. For me the best game of the series. I think the last game (although still brilliant) was missing a bit of spark. I think the 80's theme of VC and the early 90's of SA gave it a bit of atmosphere and nostalgia missing in the two Liberty City games. One thing I don't like about the newest one is the sat nav and taxi options which although good in preventing a lot of frustrating driving also means it is far too easy to just skip driving which means you don't explore the City as you would before. Not sue whether GTA IV and San Andreas have become too big. I could probably still find my way round every little side street from Vice City and Liberty (GTA3) but struggle to find my way anywhere in the larger Liberty.

I think this one could be based around the mid 90's LA. Would be a decent theme with the Tupac / Biggie fallout. Who knows. Like I say hopefully another Vice City though.

SA was wayyy too big. Absolutely huge, though it was kind of cool that it had many different areas - the hillbilly town was rad!

Best thing about Vice City was how the gangs worked. If you upset a gang, every time you went near their hood, they'd chase you, shoot your tyres out and attack. If you were attacked and a gang you were on good terms with were nearby, they'd help you out. Or at least I think that's what happened, quite some time ago now!

This was the difference for me with GTA IV.

To be honest I got a bit bored with GTA IV because it got a bit to formulaic; go see some random person, get a mission, rinse and repeat. I just got a bit lost and eventually gave up on it.

I come back to it every now and again but I've never properly finished it.

Vice City was much more fun; but then, Miami Vice is one of my favourite TV programs.
