Has anyone else seen all the names being linked with Real Madrid at the moment?

They all seem to be quite plausible if the stories to go with them are anything to go by, especially the Ronaldo if we don't sign you we'll give you £26m one. ???

Next year potentially if the papers are to be believed (I know, I know) their midfield could contain KaKa, Ronaldo, Ribery and Silva.

There's plenty more been linked with them and usually I'd turn a blind eye to it but direct quotes from Real Madrid and some of the selling clubs add some credibility to these.

It's because they are having a presidential election this summer. Each candidate will promise to make huge signings, hence the links (Ronaldo etc as players, Wenger as manager). Some of it will happen, I can remember after the 2000 election them signing Figo from Barcelona, which had seemed crazy a few months previous.

The way it's all put across makes them seem quite likely though, especially Kaka which looks pretty much done already.

The Ronaldo £26m situation is quite frankly baffling though more so because it's written into a contract of some sort.

There's no election as there's only one man standing. Florentino Perez, the bloke that bought in Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo and Figo.

He's already got his manager (Pellegrini from Villarreal) and is now going about bringing back his 'Galacticos'.
