I believe the Fulham game was rearranged so as not to clash with something at Trent Bridge, not because it's on the box?
Ah right, thanks for this, much appreciated.

I think the Sunday 4pm game came about because of our league cup semi final v spurs (2nd leg). Delayed kick off and for some reason the viewing figures were much higher than usual. Maybe as pubs used to shut Sunday afternoon so there was bugger all else to do!!

I do hate Monday night matches. I was gonna go to Fulham game with my daughter but annoyingly that was moved to Friday because of cricket.

Sky money that pays for the spending spree though isn't it, I'm sure that every single televised game brings in a few million. Which is mental.

Whoever decided that football matches (not just Forest, but any football matches) should played on a Monday evening is a massive f***ing arsehole.
Sky Sport in Germany pushed for Monday Night games in the Bundesliga; a massively unpopular break from tradition.

It lasted for two seasons, before the fan-led Gegen Montags Fußball movement won the day, and no more Monday night matches in Germany (because, they are shit, and a massive pain in the arse for fans).

Once again Germany comes out smelling of roses. Surely paradise can't be found just over the Channel?
It isn‘t so much that, VP - it is that (in the case of Monday-night games) fan-power won, over the broadcasters.

Fans here don‘t like playing on a Monday night, because - for most people - it is a work night, and getting to away games on a work night isn‘t fun, when you then have to go to work in the morning.

Friday night matches of course are a massively popular fixture here, because (again, for most) it is the end of the working week, so you go off to the match, have a Bier, meet your mates, and tomorrow it’s the weekend.

The anti-Monday matches movement was (of course, its Germany) very well organised with public displays from various Ultra groups (Stuttgart’s Ultras displayed a huge Tifo proclaiming „Gegen Montag‘s Fußball“, and calling into question the parentage of many members of the DFB, during one acrimonious Monday evening fixture, Eintracht‘s Ultras went one better, and made sure that their entire popular end behind the goal remained entirely empty for the first half of one Monday night fixture).

There were other similar Tifos and general mischief-making being had, including the display of several sets of bared buttocks, in a bid to embarrass the Sky cameras. And the pushback on Sky worked, and the DFB announced no more Monday night matches.

But then, in German football, the fans have much more influence than in the English game (and that is to the detriment of the English game itself).

Is that the mobile only deal?
Nope, it's just the sky sports football channels. Without the rest of the sports. Sky batted off the DAZN last time the rights were up in covid. Think they see it as a serious contender in the future and making a football only sub seems decent and affordable

Does anyone know if you can still see games streamed on betting websites if you are outside the U.K. ? I have a couple of pubs I want to visit that might show the gmail e but want a fall back option.

I think Dazn are owned by the company that owns Warner and Deezer so it would be a serious threat to them

It is.

I have had DAZN here since 2017, the service is actually really good for what you get in terms of content.

Night matches are way better for atmosphere, the more moved to evenings the better for me.

Monday night football is also a very good show.

I use Apple Tv which has the NowTv app.

Even at £19.99 x12 months its £239.88 to watch football on Tv.
I only ever watch Forest matches and I'm guessing there will be at most 10 games shown on Sky. Day pass £11.99 x10 £119.90

Do I wanna spend £119.98 watching other teams.

I probably will :)

NowTV is really good because you get six devices. Phone, computer, tv, Apple TV and two movable sticks is our set up. I normally watch footy in the garage while on the spin bike!

The only thing is that you don’t get the red button which was annoying last season (and frankly ridiculous considering it’s a streaming service).

I get NowTV as part of my BT TV deal so it feels just like a normal Sky channel.

I guess my prejudice against the Germans is seeing the reconstruction after the War, no doubt a bit self-serving to stop another Hitler coming on the scene, which saw us pouring help into Germany whilst the poor old UK was not only very short of money, but struggling to sort out our colonial issues whilst still regarded as one of the World's policemen. Whilst Dad was in Egypt (before going to Germany) he was hunted, along with all other British officers, by the Stern gang and we had to live in a guarded compound and he slept with a pistol under his pillow. The problem was resolved when the Israelis got their country. Then he went off to Korea to help there. All the while the Germans were building up their country again with our help, along with the French and Americans of course. Part of Dad's job was to sort out Fuhlsbuttel Airport in Hamburg; whilst our airport at Heathrow was a collection of tents, Hamburg was rather better sorted.

Both our maid's , in Hamburg and Paderborn, were DPs from Yugoslavia. The guys who guarded our Ammo depot were DPs who hated the Germans with a passion; it's no wonder that we had very little problem with pilferage. Their Alsation dogs were as fearsome as the guards! I saw DP camps in Hamburg for myself, even 6 years after the War they weren't very pleasant places to live and people were still being repatriated.
