Forest goal of the season 25/26

I think Gibbs-White v City was Goal of the Season in the Premier League.

All the other contenders are great goals, but you'll see others similar to them. You'll see other goals like Osula's - the goal that beat MGW's goal in MotD Goal of the Month vote - put away down the wing, cutting inside and finding the far top corner.

You'll see great goals scored from flicks like Semenyo's in the cup final when the player is running onto the ball at the near post then redirects it past the keeper - I can think of a couple of Forest goals from Clough and Bryan Roy like that. Don't think I've ever seen a Forest goal like Gibbs-White's at City when the player has their back to goal and there's no pace on the ball to use. Making players as good as Reuben Dias and Donnarumma look silly was the cherry on top. Bit of individual genius at the end of a very good counter.

To add, this goal just highlighted how much we missed Aina during the last few months of the season too......his run and pass were top drawer.

Gibbs-White's header vs Burnley for me. I still don't think it's talked about enough as to just how difficult that was to execute.

His back heel vs City would be second.

I'm always reluctant to go for long range strikes for goal of the season as I do feel there's an element of luck about them. They look great aesthetically but in terms of difficulty to execute aren't as tough as mazy dribbles, ingenious thinking or a great team goal where a lot can go wrong.

I have no idea what some of those goals are doing on that list. Clearly we've tried to have a fairly even spread across the season but it just shows you how bad it was pre-Vitor that some of those are amongst our best.

I think they have simply listed each of the monthly winners, so if there were a month (or even a game) with two or more memorable goals only one would have made it onto this list and in a sparse month the winner might have been a goal that doesn’t look particularly special in the context of the best goals of the season.

Agree - the long range shots are also much of a muchness. That header was far more rare. The camera angle from inside the goal as it fades into the corner 😍

I was reading through these posts wondering why no-one mentioned CHO v Wrexham. Then someone finally did. That was utter class.

MGW v City. Amazing and a nice cross, selfless knockdown by Jesus and a little bit of magic.

Sangare a close 2nd.

Murillo's run from deep 3rd.

I did like NW 's. When I saw that originally I was just thankful the sliding defender didn't leave his foot in as I'd fear for NW's ankle snapping.
