That largely depends on whether the EFL allow Derby's "stadium sale" to affect FFP. If they don't allow it to impact FFP, this could hurt DCFC quite significantly given that they'd have to cut costs and their best players this season were loanees. If they let Derby get away with it, they will just spend millions as per usual.

What makes today even funnier was it was his team selection that probably cost them promotion.

Started without a striker and it was all Villa. Derby hadn’t turned up until Villa went 2-0 up, sat back and Marriot came on. Lobbing forwards on towards the end in desperation again. Anybody could do that.

Why would you leave at half time and only one nil down?

A further bonus of today’s result is its pissed off a load of County fans who were wishing Derby good luck on their forum today.

Alfred has beaten me to sticking this in the „Forum Highlight“ thread, but it’s up there with the greatest single posts in LTLF history (right alongside „I don’t work at f***ing Farmfoods!“)

City pipped Liverpool to the title, Villa beat Derby in the play offs, now can Spurs please do Liverpool over in the Champions League to complete the set.

Villa deserved it. Derby had a go at the end but tbh they suffered from the same issue as Forest, lack of creativity and inability to negotiate through quality players.
Their fans were pretty poor I thought? I know Wembley isn't the greatest for getting things going, but villa certainly did. Poor support when their team really needed it.

Villa should have won by 3 or 4 really.

Why dont managers pick their best team from the off? It confuses me. I understand the logic of bringing Marriott on in second half when opposing players are tired, but against quality organised teams it wont work.
Marriott has pace and the finishing abilities to win matches from the off, Frank lost it

Lampard said Marriott wouldn't make it through a full game "of that intensity" in his post match when asked that question.

Just need Forest to achieve something one of these seasons for the icing on the cake. Probably being greedy with that hope though.
