Maybe it's do do with everything being so bloody shit...as you say.

I don't think I'm alone in saying that we used to view Saturdays as a form of escapism and joy.....and now watching/ listening to Forest feels more like an an act of self sabotage.

You see? We can agree!

It's become a chore. A very painful one at that.

I'm surprised how many supporters struggle with the concept of support.

When clearly he needs some more progess before progressing to the first team should it not be said? Saying he was ball watching for the goal, when he should have been on that side, his distribution needs work, but his very good in a tackle. Definitely talent there but needs progress, I think if you read a Yates page or an early Joe worral comments you will comments like no where near good enough with no explanation why.

Sounds like he's done a cracking job so far given the situation he's been dropped into. We are like to club of two halves, a fantastically well run academy and a completely basket case in every other department, you do wonder if there should be an internal take over, Gary Brazil given free rein on anything football related, f*** it put him in charge of the ticket office and refreshments..

If the worst thing that can be levelled against one of our young hopefuls with, one or two games to his name, is that he misplaced a few passes then the future is not all black. The pass to Zink for the first goal v. Bradford was universally praised, so he must have it in him somewhere.

Thought he was excellent again tonight. Coped really well with Fabio Silva in the air in the first half and is just looking more and more comfortable at this level.

Sadly I don't think he'll be with us for long.

Forest MotM for me. A solid showing from the young lad, he did not look out of place.

He's not quite ready for me yet. Looks like a teenager still and the game is more physical than it's ever been so he will get targeted for that alone. Few bits of his game are still quite rash as well, decisions on whether to press or not, choice of pass.

Absolutely those things are going to get ironed out over the next 2-3 years and he'll go on to have a very good career at this level, if not higher.

Question for us is whether we can afford to play him through ironing out those issues this season when we really could be in a relegation battle. If we do manage to get our results better and as the season goes on it looks like we're going to be comfortably mid-table then yes, absolutely play him in every game.

That mirrors my thoughts - I can't think of many 18 year olds, especially in defensive positions - (and with a conservative manager) who would be asked to play regularly at this level.
Of course, the other side of the coin is that he's shown more than Gabriel and Richardson (both of whom I'd hoped for more from) - so would deserve to be ahead of them both on merit at the moment.

How do players get experience except by playing? So he has to play now and learn on the job, accepting that there will be rickets or he goes out on loan.

The way squads are managed these days, with such a great number of players needed on a matchday (18 players, ridiculous), many of them sitting on the bench doing nothing, a young player either has to stay and play or go and play. Picking him to sit and watch every week is pointless and gains nothing.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not against him playing - even given his age and expected 'growing pains'. I'd also prefer him to play here, rather than go out on loan - as I think we could better manage his minutes. Pull him out of the firing line if it looks like his fitness or confidence levels are dropping (very likely in a struggling team), or even if his effort evels in training drop off as he thinks he's 'made it' at such a young age. It would be unrealistic to expect him to play every week though.

Agree that he's earned his spot over Gabriel and Richardson...

... but I guess Tutu is supposed to be our RB going forward and (hopefully) we're still in the market for a LB.

It's a trade off - player experience vs potentially targeted during games.

He can still get the experience he needs playing some, not all games, and getting time from the bench.

But as it currently stands with Tutu out he's first choice right back.

If he starts, he'll score the winner against Derby.

Matty Cash style on the half-volley.

You heard it here first.

I have no idea, I'm afraid. Just rolled through the forest socials for details and it's still catches me off guard seeing a world cup winner commenting on them like my dad would, if I were good at anything.

Once again, I fail to understand what benefit you will have from sending three leagues down the ladder a young player who was considered almost first team material last year.

I'd suggest, as he's still a teenager, he'll learn something from the much more physical League 2 experience. He's also more likely to get first team football - as Championship and League 1 teams often bring in loans as an extra body/cover and they end up sitting on the bench, learning nothing.
He has time on his side to build up his reputation and work his way up.
