Fin Back’s Back

BryanRoy

Stuart Pearce
Recently signed a new Long-term deal at the club.

Personal feeling is he is our biggest U23 talent currently that hasn't played senior football yet and has the best chance of breaking through in the next 6-12 months. Certainly might get into some Cup squads this season. Right-back or #8 centre-mid.

Fin is really well known around the Academy, he's been with us since he was very young and he's made a real impact on the team since I've been here

He's got a drive and desire to improve and, if you couple that with his ability, he's one that we've got high hopes for.

He brings a real energy and desire to training and games which is vital and now it's a chance for Fin to kick on and continue his development.

A lot of of top Leicestershire talent coming through with him, Osong and McAdam. Do we still get these with Leicester's new academy will be interesting.

Well, the lad has got the genes, hasn’t he?

Clearly he is very highly regarded. And in either position (RB or CM) there’s a squad place going there.

Why are they contentiously putting out photos of the lads in that lush new blue training kit, when it's nowhere to be found in the online store? :dunno:

It''s like promoting an unreleased EP whilst you've just launched an album.

It must help having a world champion father to look up to and learn from.

Whether it’s nurture or nature, surely that attitude rubs off on the lad?

Agreed. I was hoping to buy a few bits of that, but it’s nowhere to be seen.

Sort it out, Forest!

I reckon it definitely can play a role. His sister also played England youth hockey. Crazy genes but that drive and dedication looking up to their role model dad must be pretty special.

Interestingly I'm pretty sure his old man is a Forest supporter. Goes to watch games with Tom Cartledge of Benoy.

The architects doing our main stand? Are there Forest fans involved in that project then do you know? What a dream job that would be for a Forest fan architect….

Yeah that's him. Would go watch Fin at the academy with Neil too. Not sure on details of other Forest fans but he really has got it good :)

Their original Head Office is in Newark (they started there in the 1970's) so the chances are fairly high that their staff will include Forest Fans.

Definitely young Fin will be knocking on the first team this season especially now he's nearly 19 and presumably finished school. Ex-Ratcliffe College so presumably he's a bright lad who's done A-levels as well.

Like Johnson last season,he would be better served gaining experience playing in league one in a promotion chasing team

Tom Cartledge was a Forest season-card-holder, although I suspect he doesn't have to buy one presently given his on-going connection.

Depends how good he is.

We didn't need to loan out Jenas, Dawson or Reid, and more recently Mighten, though we did with Cash and Worrall as well as Johnson.

At his age with his attitude, intelligence and ability he could adapt quick enough without a loan. Though sending him somewhere until January might not be too bad an idea as we could recall him.

At RB especially our options are a bit poor though unless we sign anyone, with neither Gabriel nor Richardson doing much on loan, not sure what Jenkinson actually is, and with only Bong and Blackett at LB (which is admittedly a stronger position right now) Fin is easily in with a chance there, and in midfield we still only have passback, Cafu, Yates and Carvalho (depending on whether we see Brennan as a winger or a CM) so we're not rich on numbers there either. Assuming Bachirou and Arter are bomb squad anyway.

Graham Cartledge (presumably his Dad?) was an Associate Director at Forest when ND was in charge, I believe.

You are right but the Dawson, Jenas and Reid era were different times and overall the team was stronger then and able to bed in youngsters without (perhaps) as much pressure or expectation?.

I think young Fin would be well served out on loan at a decent L1 club, assuming he gets game time but lets see..

Pity they’ve come up with something that looks like it’s come out of an IKEA for football stadiums..

Youth development isn't one size fits all process. There are plenty of top quality players who went straight into the 1st team from youth football. 2 of the best right backs in the Prem, Trent Alexander Arnold and Aaron Wan Bissaka didn't go out on loan. Really depends on the player and what they need at that point in their development.

I'd have him in and around the squad.

I feel this season will be a bit of a write off so it would be nice to go into next season with a bunch of academy graduates who are already fully embedded in the side (like Mighten, Johnson, Richardson) with a few others banging on the door like Back, rather than loaning them out and seeing what they can do next year when the promotion hype will be properly back on again.

Makes our transfer activity next summer more easy if we have four or five players who've already stepped up.

Sadly this approach is endemic within the architectural design industry. Concerns with regards to gaining planning permission or resident support means pretty much all creative input is watered down, in favour of bland designs appeasing the masses.

It’s a shame as our stadium design can have a real reflection on our team. You aspire to those around you and your surroundings.. mundane stadium design mundane team (think D***y).

Ps: BC didn’t accept mundane. He broke through barriers and norms.

Surely less mundane than keeping the 60’s cowshed there now.
