Ferdi Kadioglu [BUPA]

and some bad translation from the source:

The manager of Fenerbahçe 's young star Ferdi Kadıoğlu, who chose the Turkish National Team, went to England at the invitation of Nottingham Forrest... The Dutch manager, who will listen to the offer of the Championship team, will then inform Ferdi. However, there was no request from the Premier League, although Ferdi preferred to go to the Premier League instead of the Championship, and his manager had the authority to negotiate with any team in free agency status. It is among the news that Ferdi and his manager will evaluate the offers until March, and that if the offer does not come, the negotiations with Fenerbahce will start again, and that Ferdi's manager's contacts are closely followed by Fenerli managers.

In that case someone better tell his agent he's heading to the wrong country!

He's a good player. He'll probably end up in Hull, as part of the turkification of the club wished by the new owner (who also tries to get an Iranian striker and a Greek attacking midfielder from Turkish club Fenerbahçe).

You'd think if he were that interested, he wouldn't have signed the new deal, as his value to the club goes down quite a bit.

Not sure that makes any sense CR. He likely signed a new deal because he got more money and secured some long term security too. I don’t think you hold off on signing a deal on a whim that (at the time) a second division English side may or may not try and sign you in the summer.

I see what you mean, and my wording was maybe a little out. If premier league is what he was really after, signing that deal makes him a less attractive signing for a new team, to the point where teams may look elsewhere for better value. He's had a short term financial boost at the cost of not getting an increased signing on fee, which could've been more. As you say, the financial security may be what he was after and if he's happy at fenerbache, then that was a no lose play.

One of my Turkish colleagues in the Istanbul office is a rabid Fener supporter, I’ll see if she has heard anything locally!

Wow! That's lucky for Fenerbahçe receiving an offer of 15-17m euros now we are in the premier league
