And from the ensuing free kick, it’s 0-8, Tyrone Mings with a header.

And that’s 0-9, Jude Bellingham.

The scoreboard in the stadium is going to run out of space.

Ohh hang on - VAR…

If we get a corner now, how do I do the "11..11..11..11." thing?

For what it’s worth, England‘s biggest win was 13-0 against Ireland in 1882.

This is the second biggest, I think? (Unless they overhaul that in the last few minutes).

I know we've been here before with false dawns and yet another 'golden generation' but this lot feel different. All the young lads; Saka, Bellingham, Foden et al all seem much better equipped for international football and its pressures than generations I've seen before.

They also seem much more attuned to each other and have a flexibility that we haven't seen before. I think we're a world class centre-half away from being real contenders next year.

Yes, not 100% on Foden (think he's a bit chavvy) but certainly Saka and Bellingham seem to be intelligent with the right attitude and character as well, whilst they have to be good at football as well, if the manager knows that he can give them instructions which they'll take in and that they won't be sinking tequila at 2am then that's half the battle isn't it? You can probably also add Sancho, Mount, Rashford and Smith Rowe into a similar category.

Often it does come down to tactical flexibility, football intelligence and mentality at the business end of a big tournament.

Foden's capacity is off the charts. The only one who comes close from the list is Bellingham who I believe will be the player Pogba thinks he is now.

PS if TAA fully replicates his form for Liverpool and adds a bit more discipline we'll kill teams from the right all day long. Saying that, the lad James is another WC player in waiting.

Yes, he's a good player, but I think his attitude will be what does derail him if anything - probably a bit like Gazza was. Doesn't Foden already have kids?

I hear you. At times he does appear too eager to please. But, and it is a big but, this lad has been crafted by the hands of Pep. Pep's pet project so to speak. If Pep stays for two-three more years the lad will become one of the best in the world.

Yes but I don't think he gave a toss about them or his wife while he was bollocks deep inside a prostitute in Denmark breaking Covid lockdown rules while on England duty last year

He also broke lockdown rules by getting his hair done during lockdown

Good player though & he's young so may grow up a bit

I can see that Gareth has stunned everybody into a bored apathy. England play a tremendously exciting looking friendly against the Ivory Coast tonight and the football world is alive with....well, almost total silence.
