Europa League 25/26

I still fondly remember that absolutely bonkers 5-5 at Villa Park, with Michael Dawson getting first use of the soap.

It was a surreal experience, kind of how you might imagine a massive bender on LSD.

That game was off the hook. Great entertainment, not so good for the blood pressure. Joe Lolley was flying at that time, looked destined to go onto bigger and better things.

He would have but for his muscle compartment syndrome... That lad was unstoppable for a while.

That win last night was not only important regarding our safety in the Premier League, but, as many have pointed out, it gives us some room to juggle with the team so that we put up a good performance in Europe. And the way the team are playing at the moment, don't write any result off!

Also, looking at the changes late on last night, I wonder if some of the players (Ando, Neco and MGW) actually ask to be left on in games. Three very important players, but always seem to last until late in games such as these.

2162 for Villa away at £30 each

Need to collect tickets in Birmingham City Centre per-match!

Villa are getting digital tickets at the CG, something that's not been extended to us.

Also, the eligibility bands are somewhat ...lax!

Probably won't get a ticket for this one, despite managing to go solo to 4 away trips as a pro member. Plenty will come out of the woodwork for a semi-final an hour's drive away.

I agree that season card holders should get some level of priority, but after 8 away games I don't think they should still pull rank if they haven't attended a single one.

I don't think that Forest have thought this through totally.

Are those on the official coaches going to have to get into central Birmingham before 6.30pm to collect their tickets?

Also means most will now have to take time off work for a game that's just 40 miles away!

Playing 90 minutes in an enjoyable, comfortable win that eases the pressure and gives a big feel-good factor is very different from 90 minutes of stress and desperate clinging on to a hard fought draw.

I suspect they won't be feeling it too much this morning.

Needless to say, there is no provision for extra trains back to Nottingham after the match.

You will need to be on the 22.23 from Witton to stand a chance of making the last train to Nottingham. Tight if there is a hold-back and a queuing system. Too tight if extra time and pens.

The last train from Birmingham is 23.09, and on that night, is terminating at Derby for a bus forward!

Very pleased that they made a quick decision on this, but hilarious that someone at the club actually thought driving into the centre of Birmingham to collect tickets would be palatable to the fans, especially given that Villa fans didn't have to meet the requirement.

Printing names on tickets. while requiring presentation of matching ID at the ground , should ensure only eligible fans get to attend.

Hope they have enough staff on hand to minimise turnstile queues.

The first window sale for the away leg says 2+ Europa games. Does this mean you need to have been to more than 2 games or is it a minimum of 2 games?

Tickets for Villa away now sold out - just scraped into window 2 - that is away members who attended at least one European away game already.

Villa fans needed to have done ALL the EL games, home and away, to stand a chance of a ticket at our place.
Think that was their first window.

They played Go Ahead Eagles in September with a ground capacity of 10,500 so only had 500 tickets for that game. So eligibility should have extended beyond that first window

Interesting that they gave equal prominence to home and away attendance - you had to meet home and away attendance threshold to be eligible.

In general, they don't have an away membership scheme but prioritise season ticket holders with consistent away ticket purchase history.

Rewarding loyalty should be the starting point of any ticketing priority system.
