It's all about mid-table...
It's the big one !

We're either going to get dicked or we'll nick it 1-0.

We've beaten Spain & Brazil on our home patch recently so maybe we can do it again.

Germans will be resting a few ahead of Dortmund v Bayern too.

The Rooney Sturridge strike pairing is the most exciting since young Rooney & Owen in 2004, so I have some hope.

In a good omen, I just took a cab ahead of some Germans as they were waiting for their friend to finish at the cash point.

It's a sign I tell thee....

Bookies make Germany strong favourites. I'm thinking of going 3-0 EnGland. Can't wait.

It irritates me to see on Facebook and Twitter and indeed forums how quickly England fans are to dismiss our chances before we've even kicked off. Have some faith and belief in your country, thats what being a supporter is, even if you think you're team will get beat you support and cheer them on!

I'm going for 2-0 to England!

I appreciate the enthusiasm geez, but you sound like Dale Winton encouraging an old codger on supermarket sweep

As much as I'm an England fan, I'm just a football fan and the Germans are doing it so well at the minute. I'm finding it hard to get excited, I just want a good game

I'm also glad to see this fixture becoming more about the game, rather than anything political. I know a couple of Germans and for many years the younger generation of Germans have felt nothing but guilt... it's good to see the politics fading

Well overlooking the Dale Winton comment, I just can't stand being in a pub watching England and some bloke with the 2002 England top on saying "Oh we're gonna get fuckin' 'ammered'". I just think well why are you even watching? I watch England to support them, if I didn't think we ever had any chance I'd still support them as their my home country.

Pisses me off on the Forest match day threads too how people predict we're gonna lose, although I know some people only do it now for a joke, but those genuine about it, what's the point?

Because its a prediction? Sometimes you have to accept you are playing a better side. This German 'B' team has some exceptional players in it, i think they will win but i will be supporting England all the way.

I struggle to feel a connection with the England team half the time. Our lack of team spirit is horrible to see. It must be what QPR fans feel like all the time. I'll always feel a bit more passionate when it comes to major competitions and stuff

I agree about Forest comments - but Forest is on our blood mate. I can't say the same for our national team. Still, should be a good game tonight.

Oh absolutely, sometimes we'll play sides and admit that they're the more superior team. I'm talking specifically about those who watch England and just pick out the negatives all the time, and sit there saying why the defence isn't good enough, why the strikers don't score and why we have the wrong manager in, rather than just watching and enjoying the game.

I can agree it's frustrating to have to see a side go out there that lack passion like some of the England players, but they're still our national team. I'm not saying people HAVE to support England, because some people distance themselves from international football which is fair enough, but if you're going to watch and claim to be an England fan I wish people would be a bit more positive towards the team.

But like you say it'll be a good game tonight, interesting to see what side the German's will put out. I believe Roy Hodgson has already named his England line-up as;

Hart, Walker, Smalling, Jagielka, Cole, Gerrard, Cleverley, Townsend, Rooney, Lallana, Sturridge

Kieran it's all about opinions, there's positives and negatives,we can all watch the same game but have different perspectives,it doesn't make that person whose negative any less of a fan it's just their own view which you can embrace or question or ignore,it's banter.

Can't get excited by international football like I used to 10-15 years ago. Too many players getting paid astronomical amounts of money without actually achieving anything. Germany and Spain have got player and club level development right, we haven't. Its not Woy's fault or most of the clowns before him. He can only stick the players produced by the premier league into the first team and try and gel them as best he can. If (and its a big if) we get it right player development and structure wise it will take another 10-15 years to see that in our international play. Spain were also rans for many years and Germany are only in the last 5 or so years seeing the fruition of their change in policy.

The last real opportunity came with the so called golden generation when ManU had a glut of English developed internationals mixed with a few from other clubs. Its interesting that even now some of that generation get in the England squad. Those opportunities were wasted and we have played catch up ever since.

I know and I can understand that, and maybe I'm basing this on personal experiences of the same people constantly slagging off the team who I watch the games with, but people don't seem to be as willing to support England anymore.
Which brings me to Trickie Trees post.
I agree that could be a probable reason, as even personally about 10 years ago watching an England game was a must, regardless of competition, where as my reaction on Friday was "Oh England are on? I forgot about that..".
Again, from a personal view it's really annoying to hear players fake injuries to get out of international duty, or the obscene amounts of money they're on, and especially that dick Daniel Sturridge who seems to be perfectly fit for Liverpool but mysteriously injured when it comes to an England game.
Despite those factors, I'll still be optimistic about England, and still cheer them on regardless of the opponent, the manager or the players.
I fear that too many fans are being driven into being tournament supporters only.
