Elliot Junior Anderson OF ENGLAND!

And certainly where brains are concerned as well.
Elliot seems much smarter - or at least with his head more screwed on - than Gazza ever was.

He may well improve his goal return if he played further forward, which he's capable of, although even then he needs to improve his shot accuracy really. I do remember him coming on for the barcodes when we played them in the first season back up and he had a goal ruled out by VAR which perhaps shouldn't have been, and he's scored a few decent ones for us, so maybe it's just the consistency he needs to improve

Surely Man City will be the eventual destination? Budget and potential for trophies is far bigger there than Man Utd or even Arsenal.
This is from someone that knows Anderson very well, so choose whether to believe it or not, but Anderson has no desire to leave Forest, he is very happy here but is realistic enough to know that at some point the club will need to cash in on him. Man City are the most likely destination, but Anderson is wary of committing until he knows the position regarding Pep's future and whether he is going to stay.

Personally I would imagine any possible deal won't happen until after the World Cup, and hopefully he has a good one to boost the price, and by which time there should be some certainty about Pep's future.

He can’t have similar scoring and assists stats, can he? Although I’ve never looked at that to be fair.
Definitely not, but he still plays in a similar way to Gerrard, especially in his early days. I just looked and Gerrard in his first 5 full seasons in the PL scored 23 goals. So he was definitely more prolific but not a prolific as later. Two of those 5 he got 7 as well, so got 9 the other 3.

I think the way VP plays him he could get more goals.

The way Pep is going, he looks like he’s going to crack up from the pressure at some point?

He may well end up like Chief Inspector Dreyfuss, gibbering in a straight-jacket about John Stones‘ inability to counter-press.

Hopefully so in the next 2 months.

Do you go and watch many Newcastle pre season friendlies with a scouting list from the club?
Haha, no, my scouting remit is much younger than that. I'm recommending players anywhere from 7 years old to sixteen. Every year older a player is, the more difficult it becomes to get them brought into an academy as the talent spotting is so quick and relentless. Sometimes as they get to teens you can be better off going to the non-league games to see who's potentially available there that might have been missed or improved having dropped out of an academy and gone away for a season or two.

Fwiw I don't like scouting for PL teams. I prefer the football league and Championship which is where I'm currently scout for when I get the chance. I do a fair bit over the Easter period actually and use it to look at non-league. Unfortunately the non-league clubs local to me aren't the same level as they were 20 years ago such as Ossett, Frickley, Guiseley etc.

Players like Anderson and other PL clubs academy players are already well known within the game and talked about at a young age. He was out on loan and Bristol Rovers when he was about 19 and ripping it up in their team.

he reminds me more of better technically essien. breaks play up, all over the pitch, keeps possession, tidy feet. and that’s not a knock, essien was outstanding
When he plays as the defensive midfielder he reminds me of Makalele.

it’s the one thing holding him back from being world class he’s got to get better in the final third
He's not really an attacking midfielder so he doesn't have to score goals to be world class. Watching him run around with England's finest he's blatantly been their best player since he broke into the team which categorically makes him world class.

Him and Mainoo are tripping over each other in the same spaces tonight. The shape is all wrong and playing into Japan's hands

How MGW is not in this current England squad is beyond me, palmer, foden, rogers all poor no creativity just boring to watch absolutely no chance at the World Cup
Just said the same. There’s absolutely no way any of them are anywhere near the standard MGW has shown recently. Also, I may be wrong … but he’s just put solanke on.. his form is terrible.

MGW can’t do anymore really, so f*** Tuchel and also f*** England.. so dull again

Just shows what a difference a decent striker makes to a team. We are struggling without Wood and Elanga, Spurs are struggling without Kane and Son, England struggle without Kane.

Hopefully EA has come through that game unscathed. I was wincing at those hospital passes Dan Burn gave him right at the end. 🤬
