Dwight McNeil

To get in behind the opposition. Whatever style of play we want to major in, we still need to be able to counter. That’s the most disappointing aspect of this season for me.
I'd argue quality of delivery/final ball is just as if not more important - we already have players that can get in behind. But I'm not saying Dwight McNeil is the answer there. In fact don't listen to me at all, until I just looked him up I was convinced he was a USA international for some reason 🤣 .

Elanga didn’t always provide the best final ball but he got in often enough for it not to matter.

We spend too long putting balls into a set defence, the best teams look to swing balls in behind the center halves, making them far more challenging to defend.

I’m convinced that we need a small rethink in tactics far more than we need new players. Maybe the issue is also having a right footer on the left and a left footer on the right. If CHO played on the right he’d be more likely to swing the ball in behind the full back and in between the penalty spot and six yard box. The Dan Ndoye cross for the Sangare goal against Leeds could be something we should work towards too. But this needs the midfield to support Jesus, something that happened early in Dyche’s reign but has since stopped.

Everton fans think he's the worst player to ever kick a ball. Despite decent stats previously.

I agree we need someone who can cross a ball & grab a goal or two. We've got 'supposed' pace and it's not really happening.

Gerrim in!

If he has the leg strength to lift the ball into the area above 4ft off the ground then get him in.

This would be a good move if the guy wants to ruin his career. It's got bomb squad by July written all over it. We'll probably give him a 5 year contract though so they'll be plenty of 11th hour loan moves to obscure Turkish clubs on transfer deadline day.
