The Big Man has just tried to buy Botafogo alongside Kia Joorabchian and John Big Text Textor in the last couple of hours.

They didn't get the nod in the end (seems like it was an open auction that had to be approved by a board).

Not good news that Kia J is hanging around, christ knows what Big Text is up to.
Joorabchian is a broker as much as he is a football agent, he & much like Mendes do deals that involve buying clubs not just players (Rio Ave, historically a 'Mendes club') - and like Amanda Staveley who pops up every now and then with some rich oil state.

If you are operating in the Portuguese or Brazilian market you cannot avoid either of them, pretty much all our Brazilians we bring over has had the involvement of Joorabchian.

But I wouldn't trust Brazilian media, they have been waffling about deals Marinakis has been doing for years and none of them have ever happened. A year ago they were reporting EM's clubs were merging with Textor's Eagle group.

Joorabchian was the bent dodgy agent who presided over the bent dodgy transfer of (amongst others) Carlos Tevez, which went SO well.....

'Silva on verge of leaving Fulham'

Fulham head coach Marco Silva is close to an agreement with Benfica, according to The Telegraph.
Benfica are said to want Silva to sign a contract worth just over £4m a year and replace Jose Mourinho, who is poised to join Real Madrid for the second time in his career.
Fulham have tried to extend Silva's contract with his deal set to expire this summer after five years at the club.

I have been wondering what financial impact this has been having on the big man
Hasn't really impacted the stock of his companies. His tankers are likely also all at capacity because moving oil now is in demand more than ever.

Also isn't really going to cost him in future, he will pass on the fees. The amount of oil his tankers move, the tolls mooted would be like a lorry driving on the M6 toll road. Uncertainty in supply chains' seems to be when shipping is seen as more useful, he made a killing during covid.

Can’t imagine working with/for EM is a particularly stable environment. We have seen churn in just about every department and imagine that will continue.

The one thing you need as a CEO is consistent and stable support and leadership from your Board. An erratic or volatile board/owner/chairman is a nightmare as a CEO

Maybe the big man is clearing the decks of who he perceives were at fault and led us to the clusterf*ck that was the first few months of last season. Still haven't heard anything official about EDU unless I've missed it.

This would be my guess tbf. Think he’s clearing the decks as to not try and repeat last year. She only lasted the same time at Roma. Hopefully some new blood and new ideas in !
