Douglas Luiz Soares de Paulo

What's the spread on number of minutes he will play before he breaks down again and requires a 5 match abstinence from football. I'm going 280-300.

I’m a long term Sangare sceptic, but happily admit he’s looked a much better prospect for us this season. However, I still feel our game slows down considerably when he’s trying to run it. Against Everton, for instance, it just seemed too hectic for him. Luiz seems to speed up our whole team by a couple of beats. Alongside England’s current first choice 6, we should have a fabulous midfield if we can get him reliable.

He's absolutely made for a 3 man midfield. That's when he's at his best anyway. Recycling and moving the ball on and dictating forward passes from deep. It's a shame we never play that system other than against Betis.

It would be so nice if this guy suddenly shed his dodgy muscles (or whatever the problem is) and was able to play freely again, because he'd love it and so would we.

Agree. Sangare for me is competition for MGW. Both want the ball moving through them. On balance I think I’d rather MGW’s brand of playmaking, rather than seeing him bumped out wide but it’ll be interesting to see what we look like while Sangare is at AFCON. If Luiz can stay fit I fancy watching him, Ando and MGW - think we could look a different prospect.

I'd like to see him, Anderson & Sangare get a run of starts at some point. MGW on the right, where he has actually been decent this season, especially in the Betis game. Not saying it's the best solution but I'd like to see it

Rolls Royce of a midfielder. It’s a no brainer to buy him at that price if he can stay fit.

We are very likely to be looking for a replacement for Anderson in the summer, with every club in the world knowing that we have 100m burning a hole in our pocket. Having Luiz in already to play alongside Sangare would take a lot of pressure off.

I'll say it now without hesitance......

With a fit Luiz & Aina playing there's no chance we're going down .

If we can get Woody firing then we'll be closer to mid-table than the bottom 3.
