Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

It’s not all doom and gloom for them, have you seen their new pitch ?

Some days I don't know whether to admire or pity their optimism

They're gonna be so far behind everyone else that they'll probably be rock bottom again by the end of October.

Last year they had they cushion of low expectations and "fight to the end" to buffer them. Now the pressure is on, they're really gonna feel it.

Stone Cold took a good rock bottom.

Mind The Rock took a great stunner would go down then push himself up on his arms and land halfway across the ring.

as you were.....

Nothing beat the HHH one where it was a contest to see how long he could sell it for.

Jeez Darren Ambrose, that's a hell of a random ex-football to have on the radio

I always liked Sinclair as a player. It's funny he made that point because I bet he'd be offended if someone was criticising a country that mistreated black people currently and someone said "yeah but this country mistreated a different race in the past too"
To be fair, speaking to any derby supporter you will get the same kind of responses…

“yeah well Amazon don’t pay taxes and a it’s all right for them”

they pretty much have an example of a company doing something similar to them across the board and not getting punished.. so it’s not their fault!

The ironic thing is Amazon have a reputation for not paying tax yet they paid the PAYE tax that Derby didn't end up paying.

Over £600m of it to be exact!

Can you imagine the outrage nationally if Amazon had witheld it's employees PAYE & used it to buy another company?

Companies don't pay PAYE - they collect it on behalf of employees, just as they do employees NI.

The do pay the employers NI.

The thing with Amzon and other tech companies, is they don't pay corporation tax because they use all kinds of ruses t avoid.

In the case of Derby, no corporation tax was due because they hadn't made any profits.

So the majority of the money that Derby held back from HMRC was a theft from the employees of the club.

The American wrestling stuff is weird. I never knew anyone ever who watched that guff but it seems to have been common from people on here?
I got into it in the early 90's when we 1st got Sky when I was about 9-10 watched it up till about 2003ish then it went crap.

Still watch all the old WWF/ECW/WCW stuff from the 80/90's when it was good.

I'm not really that bothered about the matches (unless there is a massive botch or it's a legandary one) it's more all the mad shit that went on back in the day behind the scenes - some of it is crazy.

I remember WCW being shown on itv in the middle of the night back in the early 90s. Me and my brother used to get up to watch it but to expect a 9 year old to stay awake at 2am was a big ask.

Can you remember when they used to do the phone-ins post match on RN.

People would call it and describe something totally different to what you just watched for 90 mins, then they would say something like "great commentary of the game Colin, really enjoyed it" and then it makes sense.

It always used to boil my piss when people would call up radio phone-ins and go “I didn’t see the game today, but…..” and then proceed to state what the manager was doing wrong and what he should be doing.

What the f***? Why do they let them even discuss something they haven’t seen? It’s ridiculous.

It’s like me ringing up a talk show about film.

“Godfather part 2? No, haven’t actually seen the film, but nobody will be interested if Coppola doesn’t change his costume guy. Why has he got De Niro in it? Saw him in Bad Grampa and he was shite.”

“Who would you like to have seen cast?”

“Dunno, maybe Dwayne Johnson? He’s a big name isn’t he? I think he’d be good in it. Or Kevin Hart, he’s funny”

“Not a problem that neither of those are Italian-American?”

“No don’t think so. To be honest I didn’t know it was about Italian-Americans, but maybe that’s where it’s going wrong? I just want to see jokes. They should make it a comedy”

“Thanks for your call Mick from Barking”
