Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

According to Nixon, Rooney had agreed a deal to sign Hourihane on a 3 year deal! He really was utterly deluded if he thought the EFL would rubber stamp that.

He would have been on a fortune for L1 standards, and they would have been paying creditors over 3 years!

More evidence he had zero understanding of the situation.

More bullshit from Nixon to try and make his mate Stretford look good. Zero chance of Hourihane dropping to League One, never mind him accepting £5k per week or less at Derby.

Aye Rooney is in one of the papers this morning saying he left for Colleen ! What a guy! And they say love is dead 🙄

Yep, using the press to put out fluff pieces to try and make him look like some sort of hero or man of the people. It's all PR to try and get him media gigs and another management job.

We all know the real reason Rooney left is because his agent won't be on the board anymore now that Kirchner is out of the picture. Nothing to do with loyalty or for the sake of his family.

John Robertson
Morrisons got that job. He'll be a he'll of a lot cheaper than Rooney and they can get an assistant from some Sunday League team. Any talk of poaching anyone is absolute nonsense and the Crewton crew really ought to know that by now.

Thinking about it I really hope Rooney has already got something lined up and Morrison goes as his assistant.
Only one man for the job honest Steve Evans.View attachment 14388

The thing is he spews out a load of other names in the article as well which are all bs without joining any of the dots up.

Hourihane was good for Sheff Utd but on £60k a week which is why even they can't sign him.

If (And its a huge If) Derby were to try and sign him, it shows they have not learned from their past but I agree its just more jackanory stuff and Nixon doing a fluff price for his mate/employer saying its what you could have won knowing full well it would never have happened!

Morning all, I've just arrived back home from a few days in Yar Muff. I had a wonderful time enjoying the craic with fellow Reds and some West ham, Leeds and Villa fans too. Nice to know those fans are pleased to see NFFC back where they belong. Also not one of them had any sympathy for DCFC or their fans. In fact it was quite amusing celebrating Rooney's departure on Friday with the Forest, West Ham, Leeds and Villa fans. 🍻🍻🍻🍻
So please forgive me if I'm not up to speed as to what is happening in Sheepville recently.

Have they got a new manager yet?

How many new players have they bought?

Have they got enough players to make a full team sheet?

Have they got enough players to fill the subs bench?

Have they even got a goalkeeper?

Are they still crying over Wooney?

Is Sean Dyche manager of DCFC yet?

I keep hearing they're gonna storm League one.

Someone on here rightly pointed out that the slight upturn in results Dec/Jan done more damage than good, admins went all in on staying up making the club ever so slightly more attractive ( like saying gonorrhoea is more attractive than syphillis ) in reality.

if they sold the family jewels in Jan and raised a few bob peoples attitudes towards em might have softened, but yet again they gambled.

reckless behaviour sooner or later ends in tears

From what I understand from talking to the sensible heads at work this morning, this Clowes fella is a low grade Mike Ashley.
Shrewd businessman, but his wealth is wrapped up in his business, rather tha
n being cash rich.
You'd have to be a very brave person to invest in a football club at the best of times, but coming after Covid, some kind of recession and inflation likely to keep on rising you surely need to be certifiable.
Or, proper old school and do it by the book.

He ought to be Derby' saviour, just what they need, but a large, noisy minority will make sure he's not.

Good Morning Judge how are you today... (10cc, sorry I couldn't resist). You've picked a mighty fine time to reside in the Derby area.
Hope you're gonna milk it for all it's worth. 😁

I'll get bored of sayng this soon but Clowes has not bought Derby as an investment.

He is staving off liquidation or expulsion from the league, and making them a more stable and viable prospect to sell on.

But it will lead a noisy minority making life hard for him to do this when they fill the squad with lower-league journeymen and lots of youngsters, both on free transfers.

I feel a bit sorry for the bloke to be honest. He's a proper Derby fan putting a significant slice of his personal wealth on the line to prevent the club from going under, but their ungrateful fanbase aren't going to thank him for it as they are too obsessed and accustomed to unaffordable signings and celebrity managers after the Mel Morris era.

Yip Ash, I’m thinking it’s a bravado purchase,

I feel he’d backed himself into a corner,

as a sensible businessman I’m sure he could have found another type of business in as much financial trouble to blow his money on, his heart has ruled his head unless he is a visionary and sees something 99.9% of right-minded people don’t to coin a phrase “he’s done his dough”
