Dilane Bakwa

He’s got something but not on the same page.
Braindead foul in stoppage time gave Brighton the opportunity to see the game out. Odd behaviour when MGW was injured on the floor to take the free kick quickly as well. Make sure your teammate is okay first.

If he's got something, I hope it's not contagious.
I'm sure he'll be a good player for someone somewhere in the future but there comes a point where we have to realise he offers absolutely nothing.
 
He had a couple of decent moments yesterday before his last 60s disaster class. He was responsible for our final two bad moments in the game. The later it goes into a loss the more frustrated we are, and his errors are freshest in the memory when we're all raging/depressed/resigned immediately after the final whistle. But there were far worse errors than his and he wasn't the reason we lost. Burying fringe players we need to make a contribution won't do any us any favours.
 
I hope the gaffer has realised that he can't be used whilst we are fighting for our lives....not the time to blood him in at the minute!! We have managed our new signings quite poorly.

Get him a good pre-season, friendly minutes and hope he turns into the player we thought we were getting
 
I'd rather have Franz Carr at his current age in the team than Bakwa. He has been sued by rubbish for having given it a bit of a bad reputation.

What were those who signed him on?
 
As mentioned above i thought he showed the flashes of why we actually bought him in his short cameo and in the final minute why he hasn't broken into the first team.

Theres definitely potential in the lad, i doubt we'll get to see it this season (if ever) but no doubt a Bundesliga or Serie A team will then sell him for a boatload in 4/5 years.
 
The alarm bells were ringing in my head when Chelsea, who spam sign every u23 player going, had no interest in Bakwa despite him being at their feeder club who have been purged of players/staff by Chelsea both before and after we signed Bakwa.

If he was worth anywhere near £30m then Chelsea would have signed him for £20m weeks before.
 
My only complaint last night was when he received the ball facing our goal near the halfway line under little pressure, then proceeded to dribble twenty yards backwards, before under hitting a back pass to Ortega who had to clear for a throw. They scored soon afterwards.
 
This was the next thread I had a look at after seeing the suggestion in the Nico Dominguez thread that he needs a song. I can’t offer anything for Mr Dom-in-gwezz, but now we’ve had a proper glimpse of what Mr Bakwa can do this struck me as an obvious one, even if you’d have to by my age to remember the Steve Gibbons Band cover and even the forum’s elder statesmen might not remember the Chuck Berry original:

He's moved above Ndoye in the pecking order for me based on last night. A few more performances like that and I'd happily have him over Hutchinson too who is very erratic.

On the subject of Ndoye, I felt after a fairly promising cameo against Fulham he was back to being the completely ineffective version we've seen all season last night.

Good try Ian, but you're probably being a little optimistic thinking that many of our fans under 70 will have even heard of Chuck Berry, let alone know one of his songs.

My son told me about someone he knows who sits in A-Block and tried to get something started for Sangare to the well known tune of Dean Martin's Volare, only to be greeted by mainly confused and nonplussed faces from those around him.
 
Showed a desire to be involved last night and work hard, clearly taking a liking to Pereira, and Perrira clearly building his confidence rather than just telling him to run more. And despite how disappointing he's been so far this season he's shown he might just offer something in the run in.

Oh, and he instantly became our best corner taker! (Although that is an incredibly low bar 😂)
 
His crossing ability looks to be fantastic.

It could be much needed in the run-in. Given our inability to cross or take a corner & Chris Wood's imminent return.

Don't down play the importance of having a decent crosser/ corner taker of the ball......Arsenal's season has been built on it.
 
If we survive I think some of the players we have been slating this season could go on and have an impact next season. One of the biggest flaws in our recruitment this season is too much, too fast. I think Ndoye, Bakwa, Hutchinson and even Jesus who I have been critical of, are good players. They have just been given a very rough introduction to what it means to play in the PL in a team lacking clarity and cohesion.

Just look at the history of new players at this level, both here and at other clubs. It is plainly obvious they will all improve, you will be proven right - I am certain of it.

That’s why Brian Clough signed Alan Hinton from Forest in 1967 when he was manager at Derby.
 
Id be tempted to start him right wing back. Get him on corners/freekicks. Could Aina do a job at RCB with Milenkovic in the middle? Just feels with Williams and Aina as wingbacks there isnt much going forward.

We lost attacking threat once he went off yesterday, aswell as a few others.
