Derby v Forest

It's one game though , in other preseason games that Moloney has played in , the reviews were pretty mixed , some said he's a bit naive , too green , like a deer caught in headlights etc.

To be fair, I think I've seen him in about 15 games, and last night was a typical performance.

If anything last night was his first real test, as, in every other game he has had too much talent to be troubled. Last night I think he found his current level.

He is only 18 thuogh, I imagine by the time he's 20/21 he'll be an ever present in a top half Premiership side at least

Dunno where the placement of the commentary box was, but it sounded loud, and heard plenty of noise from both sets of fans.

Some of the Derby fans chanting I found distasteful, and highlighted why the whole idea of this friendly was patently absurd.

I think it's in the West stand.

The home fans sing mainly in the East and away obviously in the South.

Srangely no-one seems to have mentioned Clingan. I thought that he had a good game last night and worked well with Lennon.

I hate the idea of him being used in a tug-of-war for affections.. I only heard the Forest fans singing 'Stand up for Brian Clough' which is inclusive and awesome :)

The first time that was sung half the Derby fans didn't stand up. They received boo's from both us and the upstanding Derby fans.

The next time they got up!

To be fair, most of the banter last night was just that, banter. I never felt threatened even though I was right next to/underneath the Derby fans

I thought Clingan had an excelent game, considering he hasn't realyl played since his injury.

He did work well with Lennon too, which is good as there is now quite a battle for the midfield slots, I don't think anyone could pick a definite midfield 4

I think it has been said that Clingan is a bit too similiar to Lennon , playing a bit too deep. I see Clingan as the eventual successor to Lennon next season but this season , it has to be said that Cohen is probably the more logical choice to play alongside Lennon as he's more attacking.

There was a bit of "Brian Clough's Red Army!" occasionally. I think the sheep started the tug of war though.

I felt quite safe all evening as well. I was with a mate of mine who's girlfriend is from Derby. We were in a pub which wasn't letting in away fans, and as I covered up my Forest shirt I was able to stay. The bouncers were seeing off all the Forest fans who were marching towards us and singing, and I was sat with about 30 white shirts around me. They were pretty quiet though so I didn't feel too bad. Haha.

Have to say first time I've seen Moloney play last night - best player in a red shirt by a mile!

The mrs and her family are rams (unfortunately!) and I said I was worried before the game due to the fact we had two 18 year olds playing at the back (GK and RB), and Bennett was playing which never fills me with confidence.

But....as Rams even they commented on young Brendon and how he looked comfortable on the ball, more so than some of the sheep. Also thought Roberts did well, and apart from one scuff with his left peg, did well with stupid back passes from our great captain who should no better and put them safe. Also, not Bennetts biggest fan, but played well last night and if continues in that vain would have no problem him being in the starting XI.

I was very impressed with Moloney as well, a solid defender who loved to get forward.

He could well hold down the right back spot next season.

that would be forest's luck.  CC begs commons for months to sign a new contract, then when he does he gets injured for months against the sheep sh****rs

wouldn't be the first time. Bopp's Forest career effectively ended at Pride Park.

last night an eskimo broke down outside paridles park as he was driving past. it was just after full time  and as he fiddling around under the bonnet a derby fan walked past and offered his advice
"you've blown a seal" said the mutton mollester

"and you've f**ked sheep, so who are you to point the finger" replied the eskimo

I think some people are missing McGugan out here. Unbelievably he wasn't even on the bench in some people's teams. For me he is better than Clingan as he can actually score goals and has a great deal of potential. My team would be:

Smith

Perch/Moloney Wilson Morgan Lockwood/Bennett

Lennon

McGugan Cohen

Commons Davies

Holt/Tyson

For the love of god, can you please center "Smith" in your sig.

I must have OCD or something, but it's driving me mental... It actually makes me angry every time you post

If you had OCD you'd have made your own sig less hideous ages ago ;)

I think Maloney played pretty well and i would not grumble to see more of him at 1st team level. He gets sucked in a lot but he is still a rookie. As for Dobie i really want to see him do well but i can't see it after last night showing he is really low on confidence.

Sounds like a few players impressed last night which is good although the now blatantly obvious gulf in class between the two teams is depressing :(

Ah well, we'll just have to do something about it.

I tried to centre it but everytime I did, it just went back into the corner. How do you centre it?

Leave him where he is.
We need to protect that corner.
