Ah weasel words. Just because they have no plans does not automatically mean it won't happen. You hear them a lot in politics.
 
Delighted to see this link although I do have doubts it'll actually happen. I'm happy we're looking to improve on Sels as whilst he's a decent top flight keeper I think we should be aiming for better.

Said for a while now that I think Henderson is the best keeper I've seen us have in 30+ years of following the club.

The exact line is "no plan to" and "no wish to". Again, these are weasel words that you hear all the time, particularly in politics. They are usually used to try to weasel out of things. For example:

"We had no plans to do this, but that happened and meant we had no alternative but to do it after all."

Now, that does not mean it will or will not actually happen, but if it was said about one of our players we did not want to leave it would not allay my concerns.

Hopefully that he needs to perform at his highest possible level to play, whereas at the moment he knows he can drop levels and have no worries about John replacing him.
 
In two and a half years I've seen one howler from Sels and that was Bournemouth's fourth the season before last.

I saw more from Peter Shilton in his first two and a half years. First half of 1979/80 season he was shite, best keeper we've had notwithstanding.

Unless he wants to leave, keeper is not a position I'd be looking at doing anything with.

I don't think Sels ever really has howlers as such, like John had at Villa for example. But I do often find myself questioning whether he could've done better with goals. We've had two instances of this already this season.

There's no doubt in my mind that Henderson is an upgrade. I agree it's not a priority but ultimately if the finance is there we should never stop looking for ways to improve the team.

We’ll see if I was an advisor at palace and hendo had 2 years on his contract and even kicked up a stink I still wouldn’t sell to Forest as the PR of that would be dreadful. I’d advise to sell home somewhere else for cheaper. I don’t think the board can get away with it.
 
For me depends on what Glasner wants to do in terms of goal kicks, progressing ball and style of play. Is he I’m happy with Sels and his big boots up field or does he want more build up from back. Not seen much of Henderson recently to know what qualities he brings regarding kicking etc -does anyone know?
 
His kicking at Forest mainly went into row D.

There was one (only one) occasion when he actually managed to kick it to a Forest player and it was met with a large round of sarcastic applause from the crowd. You'd have to imagine that it has improved since then.
 
Are there any Ravenshead residents here who know whether he kept that pad that he bought there?
 
Sels is and has been excellent but he’s 10 years older than Hendo and weren’t there rumours he wanted to head home in the summer. I’d be happy with this.
