Dan Assane Ndoye of SWITZERLAND

I wish that he would not stop and complain to the ref when he thinks he has been fouled. Just keep going, keep fighting for the ball and let the ref blow the whistle if he is going to.

Bakwa was just as bad for doing that.
It's because he knows he cannot win in a fight for the ball so he stops to complain to the ref. It gets him out of a potentially embarrassing situation of being bullied out of a challenge once again.

I watched him in the world cup and he was crap.

Struggling to see how he's got any sort of reputation which warranted dropping £30m on him.
He looked good on highlights reels from Serie A.

I think we probably overrate Serie A because of its history, but the Italian national side has been crap for a while now, and the clubs don't really do well in Europe either.

We also have to consider that Freuler and Dominguez looked standout over there, and whilst I think Freuler would have more impact if we signed him now than when we did have him (negating ageing) he probably wouldn't stand out any more than Ibra or Schlager do (and Schlager is probably similar to Freuler) so he'd probably still be getting pelters on here.

I'm sure @Huxley as our resident Serie A expert will know more about the various moves players have made between there and the PL but it's probably lower in standard than the Bundesliga, the PL and La Liga are the top ones and then we have Portuguese and French top divisions probably behind those two...

It just puts him into the embarrassing position of looking weak and petulant though. It's not a winning move is it?
Indeed. I wonder if subconsciously doing that transfers the pressure from the crowd onto the officials rather than onto him...who knows I suppose.

Just looking in at his stats for sat-he only made 9 passes, but had 3 shots and created 2 chances. Jesus made double the passes when he came on. Ndoye Against Villa, also only made 9 passes. So Glasner clearly wants him as attacker to stretch the games and potentially be that finisher, not a player who is linking play. However It’s not coming off the moment but I think that the specifics of the role we don’t seem to have other players who are a natural fit either.

I really want him to do well but it’s getting a bit daft. So many games just pass him by with nothing coming off for him.

I wish I could see what impresses Olly so much that he keeps picking Dan.
I think it's because he had a good world cup and Olly was duped with that along with his opening goal of the season. He'll soon realise Igor is the better option .

It's a shame as the fans and Victor already knew this from last season and we are just repeating the same process again.

Beyond useless.
If "Football Quality" is on a linear scale, then he left end would probably be "Absolutely Crap".
Moving to the right you would come to "Useless".
Therefore, logically, your post seems to indicate if an is "Beyond Useless", it would mean he was better than useless.
If you intended to say he was worse than useless, I think the correct term would be "Less than Useless".

This "good World Cup" is a myth. He gets into good positions and then messes up the pass or provides a powder puff finish. Switzerland often delivered far more when he wasn't on the pitch.

Some of us, myself included, wanted to see his good positioning as a sign that he could turn into a good signing for us. The reality is, he just isn't good enough. Serie A is way off the quality of the Premier League and light years behind in intensity. Ndoye suffers as a result.

Logically it depends from your vantage point. It could either be better than useless or worse than useless. Schrodingers Ndoye.

Agreed. I watched Switzerland almost as much as England as the games were on at a reasonable hour, I thought he flattered to decieve. When he was subbed off his replacement instantly looked like an upgrade.

Funny though and he kept being started in these games every time despite his replacement being better. Maybe the Swiss coach saw something in Ndoye as well.

Maybe he's being used to lull defenders into a false sense of security before they're taken by surprise by a substitute that is so much better?
Or maybe coaches have got carried away with concept of 'False 9s' and have gone the whole hog, using 'false footballers'.
