Dan Assane Ndoye of SWITZERLAND

This guy:
Listens to what OG wants.
+ Does exactly that in training.
+ Makes sure they do that better than anyone else in training.
+ Gets the nod on match day.
+ Ensures they only have to do 60 to 70 mins work on match day.
+ Gets paid lots of money.
+ Puts money in Swiss bank.
= Genius! 🤔

I’m so glad we chose to persevere with someone who proved to be miles off PL standard last season instead of spending some of the Anderson money on someone creative.

I’m sure MGW will love having to do everything on his own again.

What actually is his biggest strength?

He reads the game well. He makes good off the ball runs and slots back into defensive shape reasonably well.

But so did I when I used to play, and the reason I'm not earning 50k a week is the same reason Ndoye shouldn't be: no pace, no strength, no end product and ultimately no obvious position you play him in.

Not going to say his shit but jesus is better and provides a better attacking outlet. Glasner sees it aswell he must do, why else is the one coming off as soon as they score and we need a goal?

At least Diakhaby had actual genuine pace not this mythical pace that apparently Ndoye has got
There was a moment not long before he came off that showed exactly what a fraud of a player he is. There was a chance of him being played through on goal down the middle and the speed he made that run at was about 3 times faster than he moved at any other time.

Dan was crap but so were most of the others- a lot of confirmation bias going on here.
True but the other players have proved they can put in a good shift and you can see why they are picked. With Ndoye we have betters players on the bench and players that have proved they can make a differnce.
What did Ndoye actaully do yesterday? I can see what Jesus did, he chipped the keeper and was going to score but was cleared off the line, had another goal disallowed which I thought was a bit soft.
I really think we would have won that game had Jesus started, but OG has a system he will not change. If he keeps on playing Ndoye he will lose the fan base and the other players

Frankly, if Mr. System prefers Ndoye because he's nippy and can run into channels then I don't understand why he didn't simply keep Hutch who is far quicker, has excellent close control, and can force defenders back on their heels with his dribbling ability.
Can only assume there was interest in Hutchinson and none in Ndoy, and glasner didn't want to keep both.

How he's keeping his place in the team is the real head scratcher.

He’s a reasonable option away from home when you’ve got more time and space on the counter.
At home against a team that sit deeper, he doesn’t beat anyone for pace and never puts a cross into the box. We need to try something else. It’s not working.

Ndoye above Jesus at home against a low block is strange.

I also think Aina looked great in the back 3 so was surprised he binned that off.

Maybe we're seeing why his Palace team only finished a point above us last season. One in which we had 4 different managers.

I get OG wanting to give the guy a chance, but the unfortunate thing is NDoye has literally never shown up with anything more than a 6/10 performance for us, and even those 6s have been rare.

I'd honestly rather have Bakwa playing, at least he has a good cross in his locker.

This reminds me of when David Platt referred to Moreno Mannini as "one of the shrewdest defenders" he'd ever played with.

Turns up, signs on a fortune, makes just ten appearances for us, and then retires at the end of the season, having earned a nice little packet for doing f*** all for us. Pretty shrewd indeed.

They should pay players half their wages every week. They only receive full pay if they meet certain performance based targets.

We're paying this lad a fortune to run around the pitch for an hour per week.

Er, I am not sure if you know how many modern Player contracts are structured - especially in the top divisions of Europe - a player does not just get "xxK a week" for turning up; they get a (very decent) basic salary, yes, but that is augmented with additional money for an appearance, and other, performance related bonuses.

Ndoye isn't trousering tens of thousands every week, regardless of his performance - he will no doubt be on a performance-related contract, as many are.

Ever wondered why so many players look proper pissed-off when they get hooked? Yeah, that's why.
