Has he smashed in a hat-trick yet?
I think I remember we signed Collymore and then played Derby at home. There was so much anticipation, but then didn’t play-possibly not signed in time/injuried. Derby fans were mocking. Is that right are have I made that up!!I can remember a game when Collymore came back from an injury, was subbed on and scored with his first or second touch.
Did that actually happen or did I make it up?

Thats it.I remember that. He came on v Bolton, scored, then a few minutes later smashed Phil Brown in the face and got sent off
Legendary game! Goal of the season contender iirc too!I remember that. He came on v Bolton, scored, then a few minutes later smashed Phil Brown in the face and got sent off
I saw Stan play at Barnsley very early in the season and the guy standing in front of me said ‘he reminds me Fashanu’-to be fair he was poor that day and probably not fully fit.Thats it.
I remember it feeling inevitable he would score.
He also missed the previous game, Southend away which was first game of the seasonI think I remember we signed Collymore and then played Derby at home. Certainly happier than my only visit to Southend-a 1-0 defeat under Megson in League One in 2005.He also missed the previous game, Southend away which was first game of the season
First game since relegation, it was absolutely f***ing mental the night before on Southend seafront, Forest everywhere scrapping with everyone
Oh happy days
The whole team was awful that day, as was the awful wooden stand they put us in.I saw Stan play at Barnsley very early in the season and the guy standing in front of me said ‘he reminds me Fashanu’-to be fair he was poor that day and probably not fully fit.
I saw him burst into life shortly afterwards at Wrexham in the League Cup and he scored a hat-trick in a 3-3 draw and it soon became obvious he was way too good for that standard of football.
Psycho and Crossley carried on the scrapping into the game. Psycho's early elbow and Big Norm deciding to follow it by heading their strikerHe also missed the previous game, Southend away which was first game of the season

I knew someone quite high up at Forest at the time, the reason he missed those first 2 matches was because he was out on the piss and scrapping in Southend the night before the Southend fame which didn't go down well at all.Psycho and Crossley carried on the scrapping into the game. My Mrs’s Auntie Jean , sadly deceased and lifelong Bolton season ticket holder, loved to remind me of the Bolton fans’ chant of “Where’s yer Stanley gone?”.I remember that. He came on v Bolton, scored, then a few minutes later smashed Phil Brown in the face and got sent off
Is my recollection right that Jason Lee was playing against us that afternoon Eddie? He also missed the previous game, Southend away which was first game of the season

John Percy just replied to a fan saying Wood played for 60 minutes without issues. Can find no mention of this Forest B - Northampton friendly from yesterday online, I even ventured into the cesspool that is twitter. Did he play the 60 mins as planned? Did he score?
I remember that. He came on v Bolton, scored, then a few minutes later smashed Phil Brown in the face and got sent off
Think you're confusing goals, Stan scored some absolute worldies but the Bolton one was just a long punt down field and he outpaced the defender to put it in from around 10 yards with his first touch.Legendary game! Goal of the season contender iirc too!
Kind of where he got the nickname "Tampax" Collymore from!
One week in, 3 weeks out.
He was still at Lincoln until the following month. Is my recollection right that Jason Lee was playing against us that afternoon Eddie?
Thanks for clarifying. Further proof that my memory isn't what it was.He was still at Lincoln until the following month.
I saw SVC make his debut in a pre-season friendly at Lincoln - scored a first half hat trick Left foot, right foot and header - didn’t bother coming out for the second half. We knew then we had something special on our handsI saw Stan play at Barnsley very early in the season and the guy standing in front of me said ‘he reminds me Fashanu’-to be fair he was poor that day and probably not fully fit.

I was in the Trent End for this. When Stan scored I remember seeing my mate facing me but flying away from me with the surge, i can still see the panic on his face trying to stay upright
