I’ve got arthritis in both my knees, the left one is worse, and arthritis in my left hip as well.

My consultant - having conducted a thorough review of my medical history - determined that this was most likely related to my early career which was quite physical and now I’m paying for this a bit.

End result will be a few new parts might be needed in the coming years. That’ll be fun.
My GP resisted my requests for referral to a specialist when I was 60 (and just retired), telling me "a TKR would not last 10-years, so to delay as long as possible.
After my left knee locked so badly, I had to helped by passers by to get down the steps back to the Thames path at Abingdon, I insisted when I returned to the surgery, and he recluctantly referred me.
The TKR was a god-send, as I went from virtually needing a wheelchair to being able to walk, cycle, swim (Crawl - not breast stroke), and life was worth living again!
My left knee TKR i now coming up for 12 years old, and is as right as rain.
Have no fears about the replacement body parts: accept a couple of weeks of discomfort, do the exercises you are told to do, and you simply won't look back.
I am now in a similar position with my lower back, where the osteoarthritis has set in and is causing me a lot of grief.
Still, I am working with a physio, and doing the exercises she says will help.
Hopefully, eventually, I will be able to resume doing stuff.
So, have no fears about becoming like the $6 billion Man in the future!

Maybe you should at least offer to take her with you?

Just make sure you don't get the numpties who did my hip, 10 months now and still not fully functioning. Maybe I need to temper my expectations, but at least having all the feeling back in my foot would be nice.

Apropos the arthritis: my recent back related issues were eventually identified as osteoarthritis in the sacriiliac joints.
The good news is that physio sessions, and prescribed exercise routine to free up the lower back are producing positive results.
The less good news is that my right shoulder is showing signs of the condition.
I was warned my activites might render me deaf or blind.
they never said it would cause arthritis in the shoulder :)

I know Igor has been doing some immense work up front, but I really still miss seeing Woody leading our attack. This has been a massive setback for him, and the team has missed him a lot. And it's not even close to being over yet.

Problem with injuries at this stage of a career is that he might not ever come back the same. You have to account for that.

I hope Kali can really step up tbh for when we need him.

Igor has done a great job

We should be thankful Wood didn't have this injury last season

Oh, he has, he definitely has. It's just that I'll personally always admire an expert finisher of chances like Woody. (With the Fulham game coming up, remember that goal against them in February. That chance had a tiny xG, but the guy turned it into a goal as if out of a magician's hat.) And Igor would've had the chance to hone that part of his game by working with him. I know that he wasn't at his sharpest before the injury (like many others under you-know-who), but I miss him.

The interview doesn't come across positive in any way really. This reminds me of Reidy near the end. Weeks turning into months turning into never.
Yes, there has to be some concern that they don't really seem to know why it's happened and what to do about it other than waiting to see.

Occupational hazard with older players really... which is what some of us were saying last season and in the summer about needing a longer term replacement for Wood...
