@Colin Addison is correct here.

You can trust me on this, I am married to a scouser.

£10m would be insane value.

Yeah £10m ain’t getting anything done, I would be shocked if it’s less than £20m, even if it’s £15m plus the rest in bonuses for example.

It’s taken a while (and a bit of shoe-horning) but:

GK Steve Sutton

LB Willy Wragg
CB Larry Lloyd
CB Colin Cooper
RB Frank Forman

LW Ronnie Rees
CM Chris Cohen
CM Jermaine Jenas
RW Steve Stone

FWD Fred Forman
FWD Sidney Sugden

Subs: Joshua Johnson, Colin Calderwood, William Whare, Samba Sow, Morgan Morgan-Owen, Sam Surridge, Ben Brereton

It definitely started out as people from St.Helens were the only ones being referred to as Woolley backs but as years went by lots of places were added to it. People from the Wirral were called plastic scousers years before the craze for calling fans plastic if they didn't come from the area of the team they support. Back in the day we called them glory hunters or accused them of jumping on the bandwagon.

My scouse partner (born in spitting distance of Stanley Park) says that the term refers to anyone born outside of the city limits, and going east to the M6. So St Helens, Skelmersdale, Warrington, Wigan.

Sounds like half of the premier league want him now!
Everton, spurs, Man Utd, us, Newcastle, Chelsea, palace. He will have his pick of former manager, lifelong club, close to home.
I hope we have a nice list of back up choices!

Either that or his agent is trying to get him a move away and there's less interest or urgency than they'd like.

And yet the rumoured fees are so low, there is no bidding war.

Not sure I buy the hype personally, I think it is all noise from Hackney & Boro's side. I wouldn't be particularly bothered if we missed out on him.

Hackney is not a kid, he is 24 in a few weeks & proven himself as a top Championship player. We seemed to have forgotten the step up between the divisions. I would rather dip in Brazil to be honest.

He’s clearly a very good player, and it’s unknown to what extend that will translate to the PL.

Fee dictates the merits of the move.

For 10m I'd not only sign Hayden Hackney, but also Hayden Newham, Hayden Tower Hamlets and Hayden Waltham Forest as well
I always knew my old London A-to-Z Road Atlas would come in handy, one day!

Yeah, I honestly thought he was younger.

Looks a good player, but at 24 I would expect him to have progressed to the PL already. I would rather go younger with a higher ceiling + an older experienced head or just go gangbusters on a ready made replacement.
