Interesting bit at the end of this interview, which is what a few of us talked about before.

That Brennan keeps looking taller every time you see him. I do wonder if he's had an unusual late growth spurt.

Beautiful finish yesterday on the disallowed goal. I've seen him get some criticism of late (or rather points for development) regarding getting more involved in games, but we have to remember he's not long turned 21 and is having to adjust to the new level of defenders as well as a more central role.

Gutted he was an inch or so offside, but he'll take heart from the way he made that space and finished the chance so well... no nerves and great movement - it's instinctual with him I think, which means he's really going places. I love him!

He's slowly settling into the league, began to show some of his ability in the second half against West Ham. His finish was top drawer, but he was offside.

I actually expect him to be on the periphery of quite a few games but over the course of the season his G+A returns will be up there. When he does get chances to score/assist he invariably picks the right option. I'm going for 15 goal/assist contributions which is a pretty decent return in your 1st year.

He has yet to find/figure out the rhythm of playing in this division. It's all there (physically) , and I'm pretty comfortable he'll find his way fairly soon. Wide players are notorious for drifting in and out of games.

if he plays on the right but nowadays , he just stays in the centre being a statue , you can see awoniyi moving about , making runs etc , getting involved in the play , johnson doesn't do that , he will learn and adapt , he will have to. the only time he actually get to run at his namesake was when he shifted to the right later in the game, if he stays in the center , he just wait for the ball and run into a defender more often than not.

No offence intended mate, but you're wrong.

Brennan wasn't at his best and the runs he often made could either have been better timed or a little more intelligent, but he was constantly on the move on Sunday, often tracking back. Not forgetting that a mere split-second was the difference between his lovely finish seeing-off West Ham and the nervy ending we had to endure. His neat header that produced the half-chance for Williams was a result of his desire to get to it.

Only 12 months ago he had to get up to speed with Championship football. I think he’s done a phenomenal job, and will be at full premier league pace within the next three games.

Once he’s there he’ll be unstoppable.

The offside was a **** hair off and a superb finish. If he makes that same movement all season he’ll score 10 from that position.

He needs to find ways of involving himself more no doubt. In our last 3 competitive games he's been very quiet but luckily at Wembley and in Sunday it didn't matter. For me he was a bit too central against West Ham. In my eyes he's a wide forward who can drift in but really you want him in the wide positions where he can run at a player but to be fair he found himself more doing that in the second half. First half he was too central...

As last season went on we shifted (at least it seemed to me) from 3-4-3 more towards 3-4-1-2 with Brennan going from an out and out wide man to a central striker who can drift wide and I'm not sure the newer system suits him as well. The issue is of course is that it seems to suit the rest of the team though...

Off topic, but is ‘mate’ a passive aggressive term?

I’ve noticed it’s normally used when disagreeing rather than when you’re actually mates with someone.

Yes.

If you're attempting to communicate mateship, then "m8" is the correct term.

You could have checked a dictionary, mate.

Why are we not full-naming him. Brennan Price Johnson. Superb!
