I think him still being at Forest is a bit of a sticking point for the club when it comes to strikers, both from a numbers and a financial point of view. Kalimuendo is probably worth about £20m to Forest and if Forest go into the market right now, needing 3-4 players, having that extra money is going to help expand our options when it comes to an attacker.
Kalimuendo has honestly had a great pre-season and can't really do more in terms of improving his stock right now, but I think he's a lock to leave for somewhere in Europe. When it comes time to replace him, I don't think we're going to go big on a centre forward this year. Next year when Woody and Taiwo are out of contract seems like the year but this season?

So letting Kali go, and relying on Awoniyi (who could get injured if the wind blows too hard), Wood (who's managing an injury and hasn't been the same since) plus Jesus who's not a no9 AND not getting a top striker?

Yep, after our scoring struggles last year I would be very concerned going into the new season with the four we have, We 100% need a new number 9. Definitely keep Jesus but as one of the two behind said CF, any of the other 3 can go.
I honestly don't care that Wood had one amazing season, Taiwo kept us up etc. Looking forward we need better or we pay a heavy price. Kali would probably contribute 5-8 goals over a season but that's not enough unless we're happy to be sweating around 16th again, if we can get £20m for him and any amount for the other two, cash in and invest the $ in a better option.
Wait till Dyche takes over at Hull then offer him Chris Wood, send Taiwo to Coventry

He is small at 5 feet 9 inches, but what he lacks in stature he more than makes up for with his footballing brain.
I think that in Kali, NDoye, and Jesus we have 3 good options playing off a main striker.
We just don't have a fit and reliable main striker.
Taiwo would be if he could stay fit.
Wood would be if he could turn back time a couple of seasons.
But neither Taiwo nor Wood can do those things, so a big line leader is a key part of the recruitment if we are to kick on.

His height is a concern, nor is he particularly fast, I also don’t see him smashing it top corner from 25+ yards…
But I like him. For a short player, he does hold the ball up really well. Personally I think he’s better at this than Jesus. Also seems capable of taking the ball past defenders and beating a man. He also has a good pass on him. Seems to get into the right places at the right time.
That said, there is the dilemma of, is he an out and out number 9? And if not, do we have the space for him as a 10? And then with all our 10’s excluding Morgan and Jesus, who stands the best chance of getting our money back on?
What ever the club decide to do with him, I will be fine with it. But ultimately I do think he had been criminally underused last season and has more to offer than most on here seem to think.

He is a goalscorer, if he plays he will find space to get chances.
People can overcomplicate things. Not everyone is going to be a started, I think you need goalscorers even if they produce little else at times, when you get to those games in a long season where you are desperate to score & injuries are racking up, he is what you want on the pitch.
3 starts overall last season & he scored 2.

I would agree that is one of Jesus’ best attributes. However from albeit only a few games last season and bits in preseason, I have been much more impressed with Kalimuendo’s hold up play.
And no disrespect to Jesus as I do like him in the team but I lost count the amount of times last season where a long ball gets played up to him and either he would win the first touch but the defender would then take it off him or he would go straight to ground to try win a freekick to which hardly ever any ref gave a freekick. And then when he did have the ball at feet and they to knock it past and take a defender on, it never came off as he was just too slow and easily muscled off the ball.

And to add that in those games he scored in along with preseason games, he’s only really played in a heavily rotated/second string team.

If he's happy to have that role then he can stay as far as I'm concerned and currently sits above Taiwo in the pecking order for me.
I'm not sure having a £25m player on big money as 3rd choice striker is great from a Squad Cost Ratio perspective though. Perhaps for a Sky 6 club who can carry that sort of burden but not us.
