Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga

My main criticism of him was never about his ability it was about his mentality during the previous games, he looked like he was about to cry a lot of the time

The best part about tonight for me wasn't really the goal (which was great) but he showed for the ball multiple times when he didn't do a month ago. The goal was a great example of that, pulled off & demanded the ball off CHO.

He is growing, good to see.

I really like Kalimuendo. He reminds me of a less technical version of Jermain Defoe in terms of the positions he takes up and the way he takes the ball on the half turn and looks to go directly to goal if possible. But is more likely to score the Inzaghi goals off his shin/arse/kidney. But is ultimately not at their level right now. He will score more this season and we will need him to. Definite keep for me, gives defenders problems they won't have with Woody or Igor, and we know he scores goals.

He seems the striker that needs a strike partner. He does not do enough to be the only man up top.

I just can't envision a scenario in which Dyche will think 'yeah, I'll bring Kalimuendo on' in Premier League games. We never seem to go for a two-striker setup, even when chasing a game.

If he can keep doing the business in Europe then that's alright in the short-term.

Tidy finish right into the side netting, just like a lot of the goals on his highlights reel. Hopefully a sign that he's settling in because I'm sure that's why we prioritised signing him. Snapshots placed right into the corner are a sign of an instinctive finisher.

That could change when Woody or Taiwo is back. That's more likely to be in a chasing the game scenario but I could see him doing it.

I see a little bit of the Defoe comparison. He reminds me more of Earnshaw though.

Dyche might soon not have any choice but to.

Good goal and important win for Forest.
He took it really well. He got lucky with a few ricochets but he made his own luck by being positive and the finish was lovely.

I did notice he grew in confidence a bit after that on the ball but to me I have doubts whether he's the type of striker that Dyche will ever trust enough to play important minutes in the league - which is wild considering he cost £26m.

He got in some attacking positions last night, our midfield were a bit passive and missed opportunities to pass to him, he took it upon himself to get his goal, he's steadily settling in and getting up to speed.

There was a moment in the 2nd half where Dominguez picked up the ball. Could've took his time and played a through ball to Kali, But Dominguez rushed it and it went to the Keeper.

After commenting on how I liked his movement and positions he took up, I went back and watched the first half again.

I knew it looked good at the time but it was even better than I thought. I always talk about making a double movement as a striker, but there was one phase when he actually made 4 different movements to pick up the appropriate space as the picture changed, but the pass never came to him.

The chance that Zinc fluffed but should have been squared to Kali was also really good movement from him beforehand. I'm almost certain that if we get Kali playing with Hutch or Bakwa he'll naturally get more goals. These are players that will relentlessly get into the box and pull stuff back.

A really nice interview. Reminiscent of the sort of things Elanga said early in his Forest career.
Really encouraging, especially after seeing him look dejected on that Bench Cam a month ago.
